Excellent video as always. Next video about stocks should be about The Recoil reduction style ones. Stuff like PFS, TKS, Euro design, and others. A video about stock pitch and grip angle would be extremely helpful to most folks.

Ok both beads line up with the shooters eye but the gun still shoots to the right, lets say. So in this case who's to say more cast on is a bad thing? With a comb adjustment we get a gun to shoot where the shooter is looking despite the beads off.

G Gordon...the optimum set up is that the gun shoots where we look and the beads still line up... this allows us to check our gun mount ...if the gun fit is reasonably close we should not need too much lateral adjustment of the comb!

If both beads line up and the gun shoots to the right the barrel is bent or the chokes are messed up, or you screwed up? When you are wing shooting, your brain could care less about beads. Your brain aligns the shot off the end of the barrelDouble beads are for trap shooters to line up before they call the bird. If your a trapshooter and your beads dont line up to where the shot is going , no point in looking at them.

OK, here's the truth. the adjustable comb allows your eye to align properly where it wouldn't before. it takes a stock where your eye does not align and allow it to become aligned with the centerline of the rib. The whole point of the thing is to adjust the comb so your eyes are aligned with the rib. Left and right and up and down. and for further note. the two beads are used in trapshooting where you can pre mount the gun. You can mount, check the beads fr proper eye alignment, call for the bird. they serve no other purpose. If you look at the beads or bead while wing shooting you will stop your swing and miss.

Roger i understand the poi left and right but if you have 2 beads surely it is the same for poi up and down unless you are changing how the beads line up. When the comb is adjusted you no longer have the beads lined up. Maybe i missed something.

my1956effie...good to hear from you...yes ...when you adjust for up and down the beads stack up differently...they may make a figure 8 or not...but they are still in line with your eye down the middle of the rib...the difficulty is when you adjust left or right the beads will no longer align along the centre line of the rib and if you move the comb too far right or left then you will be looking across the barrels...yes you are correct...the beads do line up differently for up and down but they are still in line with the rib...hope i have explained it properly...stay well!
