Hi Suzanne, If you are knitting in the round, should you flip the purled YO back around the right way on the next row?
@SuzanneBryan3 жыл бұрын
You can if you want or just work it through the back loop. Either way will give the same results. Great question.
@rhiannon40213 жыл бұрын
What if the YO needs to be purled on the next round (in the round)? Would that need to be reversed? Thank you for your reply!
@SuzanneBryan3 жыл бұрын
It is personal preference and what works best for you. if it needs to be purled and it is a reverse stitch mount, you would purl it through the back loop. Or you can adjust the stitch mount and then purl it through the front loop. Here is a video on purling through the back loop. - in the following video, the stitches are in the normal stitch mount, but you can see how to purl a stitch through the back loop. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZrSfqKuhbaKsNE

Do you use this compensatory YO on any pattern where you are doing a YO between a K and P? Is there a difference when you are knitting flat vs knitting in the round?
@SuzanneBryan7 жыл бұрын
Yes I do use this when working yarn overs between knits and purls. It makes a big difference. I will be making an individual video on using this technique in the round. Thanks for your feedback Elaine and happy knitting.

Great idea, I will add this to my todo list. Thank you.

I get this when the YO is between a K and a P. How about when it is between a P and a K?
@andreamiller6200 Жыл бұрын
@LaurelBrandt-vj3fg When the YO is between a P and a K, it is already short because the working yarn is already in front, and does not have as far to travel to the back. Try watching some other of Suzanne's videos in this series, there is one where she directly compares uncompensated YO sizes between K and P, P and K and K and K. Very illuminating! (The video I am thinking of is titled Yarn-Overs in Lace)
