If you look at the lever action rifles used in Cowboy Action shooting virtually all have a leather wrap around the bottom of the loop, this makes a HUGE improvement in comfort when shooting a lever action. You can buy them from many suppliers but I usually make my own. They can be sewn on, laced on or I put snaps on mine. You can also buy leather shoe laces and wrap the bottom of the lever with the leather laces. I use snaps on mine, the lever can rust under the leather, so I take mine off and oil it every time I clean it.

the be aware part is actually an advantage because it gives you an extra round if you take the trouble to put the max capacity by removing the spring putting the shells and placing the spring again.

Regarding the tendency to beat up your knuckles: wrap paracord around the bottom edge of the lever, tie it off, and run a lighter under the bottom to soften it and make it set up in position. It makes levering rounds much more comfortable in large quantities.

What you did with the shell is called ghost loading or carrier loading. I see how that gun would prevent you from properly doing this if the shell pops back. It's a way of getting an extra shell in the gun. Load one in the chamber. Fill the tube. Open the action and push the shell down into the carrier. Load another shell into the action. There you go. One plus one, plus your full tube. Maxed out carry. Great trick for hunting to give you an extra shot. Hate plugs.

Take up, or creep? It looked to me like you showed normal take up. Trigger creep to me would be any movement after it has reached the wall, but not every trigger is designed to break like a glass rod either (best example of a glass like break that I have would be my Daniel Defense MK18 with Geissele SD3G, or Walther PPQ M1 Navy 9mm).

I never owned a lever gun before and I wanted to try one out before investing "heavily" into a gun. So I went and bought it as a simple "test" gun not even thinking I would like the gun since it was obviously cheap but I was blown away at how nice and sturdy it was once I started trying it out and I shot it for nearly 2 days straight and it quickly became my favorite gun I have ever owned

You can ghost load a lot of shotguns or whatever you want to call it fill the mag tube drop the bolt with a round in the chamber then open it a little just enough to push that shell in the chamber down onto the loading gate then place one in the chamber close it up and you got one in the barrel one on the gate and in my case 5 in the tube

I can't imagine why it wouldn't be legal. Maybe they're having importation issues or just a lack of distributors carrying them?
@tylermcdonald4778 жыл бұрын
Yes quite possible but from what i read its because the states cant agree where the gun should be classified as since "8 rounds in 8 seconds" to them sounds like a semi auto which is just asinine considering how fast people can shoot lever action rifles so im not sure nothing i read that was explaing as to why it is didnt make any sense but hopefully they come to an agreement i love this gun
@Huntinggearguy8 жыл бұрын
Are you thinking of Australia? There are no mag limits for semi auto shotguns in most of the states, so a lever shouldn't even come into question.
@tylermcdonald4778 жыл бұрын
+The Hunting Gear Guy no that was was the decision in the us since it can be fired so rapidly the states within the country cant agree with the NFA where it should be classified not the amount of rounds but the rate of which they should be fiered
@signs808 жыл бұрын
You're thinking of Australia, the US has no restriction on semi automatic rifles or shotguns in most states. The ATF defines fully automatic weapons as firing multiple shots with one pull of the trigger. This shotgun can obviously only shoot once per trigger pull and can't repeatedly shoot with consecutive trigger pulls on its own and so has to be cycled by the shooter, making it manually cycled like any other bolt action or lever action
