I mean you won't be able to fire it more than once since the first shot could have easily resulted tearing/beating the hell out of a muscle or 2, if not a tendon, and bruising the bones in the shoulder if you use the stock, or (without the stock) majorly fuck up your wrist on the trigger hand, and do god knows what else when the barrels slam upwards depending on what direction it goes with how you hold it. But if it's one or 2 people at mid to close range and you're only firing once, the shot from all 4 barrels would be an unavoidable wall of death. In a more significant combat situation, however, you'd fire one shot and it'd hurt like hell, then reload, fire again, and be rendered almost completely useless from crippling pain and long lasting injuries in at least one part of the body that's absolutely vital for firing your weapon, since this would be slamming into you with the same amount of force as a 500 Magnum times 3 except with a very thick, heavy mass of metal. So, for one and done, yes, but your skeleton will not be happy with you; in a situation that necessitates any consecutive firings whatsoever, hell no, you're going to give yourself permanent muscular and possibly nerve damage with any more than one shot, and just the one shot will likely do serious damage anyway. Plus the chance of damaging something on the gun to where it no longer functions properly is very high, most likely bending or cracking the area the primer end of the shells rest against, or even mangling the firing pin(s: plural since multiple independent barrels in your scenario) to the point your weapon is now just a club you can't properly swing with your wrist/shoulder in an extreme amount of unrelenting pain

I know a old guy who has one of these in his garage full of Awesome Shop full of antiques. I picked it up and ask him as I was able to open it up and see that it had for shotgun size barrels ask him if this was some kind of military shotgun. He said no he was told that it was a military flare gun. As I examine it I realized that it had to be more then chest a flare gun. But he quickly pulled it out of my hands and put it back up on the Shelf

I also fired the 12-gauge one. One of the awesomest times in my life was living in Washington DC. Being a country boy living in Washington state where we used to get the fire guns whatever the hell we wanted. Moving to Washington DC where you couldn't even own a gun legally. But my roommate worked at the J Edgar Hoover FBI building. If you've ever been in there they have this room that you can see that is just filled for weapons even famous weapons that were fired by Bonnie and Clyde, John Dillinger and so many others throughout history. His job were to maintenance those guns in that museum and all the other guns that were kept in that building. Along with maintenance sitting these weapons they were always required to be in firing order. So we, because he always brought me knowing I loved Firearms as much as him , got to go to this firing range at the FBI building. Or we went to outdoor shooting range and Arlington Virginia with some of the bigger guns. Like one time I got to figure out a problem with the a problem with the ammunition feeding system on a m1918 bar that was used by Bonnie and Clyde .. but I got to shoot and hold and even help work on some very awesome rare firearms

He doesn't feel that firearms require any gloves of any sort to handle, as long as it is cleaned afterwards. After all, firearms are very durable items that are designed for use. He does recognize why museums do insist on using gloves, as museums typically have other, less durable items, such as old paper documents, fragile tapestries, and intricate artwork. So I suppose it is standard museum policy to handle anything with gloves, regardless of the object's durability.

Seems like it'd be a great home defense option! A modern improved ideation of the old Ithaca "Auto & Burglar" (back when those were legal). With break-action, short barrels and huge grip trigger they'd be dead simple and foolproof. In high stress situations fine motor control goes out the window, and it's easy enough to fumble a standard trigger or short stroke a pump when it matters most. This has every advantage of an SxS with two more rounds and far more maneuverable in close quarters than a typical 18"+ bbl gun with standard stock. Also it'd be very affordable. A genuinely solid idea, Winchester just had the wrong market and sadly wrong laws.

Wow!! That is awesome!!! A 4 barrel Coach Gun. That would be an ideal home defense or survivalists gun. That Mark III with the side latch and ejectors would be fantastic to have. And the collapsible stock, well you could easily slip something over the end for some padding. You could even do one in .410 gauge for the children. Just imagine the fun they could have!

There's always the cheap single-shot break-action shotgun. That weapon is simpler, cheaper, doesn't require the lengthy and costly process of barrel regulation, and lighter for the same barrel length. You can't get much cheaper than that.

The problem was the whole concept of a cheap insurgent weapon that didn't require training to use having any effect. It's an artifact from a by gone age when people had romantic notions of winning COIN with small investments of unmarked guns and a handful of Lawrence of Arabia characters leading bands of exotic natives.

The base of a 20 gauge shell (at least those in my possession) is 0.690". In keeping with their minimalist design and cost, did they just use a 0.68" diameter straight tube and give it a bit of a ream in the chamber area so it would accept a 20 gauge shell? I note that the Defender was 20 gauge as well.

Just a clarification of my understanding of shotgun gauge measurements. As I understand it the gauge of a shotgun is indicated by the division of a 1 pound lead ball. For instance a 1 gauge could theoretically fit a 1 pound ball of lead in its barrel, a 12 gauge a twelfth of a pound lead ball 20 gauge a 20th and so on.

4 years after this was released youtube has finally decided to show it in my recommendations, and the only question i have is: If it is intended to be a cheap gun for dropping behind enemy lines for partisans, why didn't they just dropped sawed-off models of classic horizontal hunting shotguns? Isn't it cheaper to produce already developed weapons that are already were made by various factories, that only have 2 barrels thus making its mechanism easier to produce, with ammunition available basically everywhere around the globe (12x76, 12x70), and with which most common people are more or less familiar with (hunters etc.)? In fact, who would want a weapon that is hardly conceivable (which is i guess is important for partisans), heavy, and not comfortable for carrying? Again, why wouldn't a basic two barreled shotgun be a better choice?

Because double barreled guns, rifle or shotgun, are expensive by nature and have to be produced by hand, one by one. Take a look at the prices : www.cheaperthandirt.com/firearms/shotguns/side-by-side/ And these are the cheapest ones. Take a look at Heym for the good stuff (20,000+ USD for a rifle) or you can go all the way to Westley Richards and Holland&Holland (upwards of 250,000 sterling pounds for a rifle). Their mechanisms are on the complex side of the spectrum, and they're not as intuitive to use as they look. You see, because the barrels are not in the center of gun, they have to face inwards and be calibrated for a single point of impact (a process that takes hundreds of rounds out of each barrel) at a specific range, as the gun turns to the right when firing the right barrel and vice versa. Otherwise you'd never hit what you're aiming at (in front of you). This also means the gun is only *really* precise when the target is at a certain distance. Not to mention each double barreled gun is also only reliably precise when loaded with the specific ammo it was calibrated for. These rifles/shotguns are heavy, require specific training, and are only good under specific circumstances. They were never meant for fighting, they're strictly for hunting. Actually, the double rifle is arguably the only type of gun never intended for human conflict. They'd never be ideal for a completely untrained angry citizen you intend to weaponize.

magnesium? why on earth would you make a firearm out of that? It's not strong by any means, is quite flammable and last time I checked it costed more than steel or even iron

Usually things made of "magnesium" are a magnesium alloy and not the pure metal. The flammability issues are eliminated or greatly reduced by the alloying process and toughness and hardness are increased.

it may be lighter but I feel that the guns would have to of been thicker in order to compensate for the weaker material and a steel casting would end up being the same weight just slightly smaller.

magnesium alloy like the lightweight metal alloy used in some laptop bodies. they used magnesium alloy for the majority of the gun but used steel for the parts that would be subjected to massive pressure like the barrel and the locking latch. the breach may have steel inserts like the barrel but it could also be made from magnesium alloy although they would have to cast it quite thicker than they would with steel. magnesium alloy is also a lot cheaper than steel. TL,DR: they used magnesium ALLOY not pure magnesium metal

Not to mention Magnesium being very easy to ignite so much so I keep it in my survival bag to ignite wet tender and wood. Making good sleeves are a must . A 12v VW Flywheel is a tad to big to fit and spin freely in a 6v Transaxle. But with proper use of a side grinder one can grind down the Transaxle bellhousing to allow the 12v flywheel to turn . Nobody informed me that the entire T Axle case was made of said Hell Metal. I had ground a few thousands of an inch at a go. lifting the VW engine in place giving it a wrench turn At the very least 8 times. Not wanting to remove more than needed. I even had a tarp tent built over the back of my Baja bug I traded a Raven Arms 25acp JAM--OHH--- MATIC for. Well it was Aug. So HOT!!!. This was pre cell phones. So I got a call and my Dad wanting to help. Asked if he could grind a bit. Again neither of us knowing the makeup of the T.A. housing. SO after a good hour of grinding you can imagine. I had a good bit of fine housing powder, that had built up in the bottom of the housing and plumes rose into the air as the grinder did its thing. The four pins used to aid in getting the engine inline with the T.A.? They are made of fine German steel. Dad let the grinder hit one of those pins causing just a millisecond of spark! Out of the corner of my eye and hearing in my ears. A huge flame erupted with a WHOOOOSHHHH!!!. My nice shady tarp setup? Also helped to contain the dust floating in the air. Dad wasnt seriously injured as it was as fast as Black Powder igniting. However his Eyelashes, Brows, Beard and Mustach were all burnt pretty well from the dust clouds ignition. At the very moment it scared me and made me feel bad,it was not I who got the burns. But upon his laughing at the whole thing and the mental image of the flash and he coming from under the tarp with little plumes of smoke. Looking like we assume Black Beard may have. Well the image had a very cartoon look. I was soon doubled over. Still feeling guilty but my mind replaying the Wile E Coyote expression on his face complete with smoke had my stomach hurting from laughter. I can only imagine the end of this Shotgun bursting into flames after 4 dragons breath shells being fired if those sleeves are inset a bit to far
