this is an awesome tutorial, but my shapes edges look very rough is there a way to have them look less jagged? I suppose importing these shapes in to photoshop and apply blurs could help.

Thanks Dan for replying so incredibly quickly! you are a star! I know where it went wrong ;) when you talked about spirals in your first video I assumed that you mean a 3d spiral like the green one on the left hand side. the spiral tool did not even cross my mind. What do they say about assumptions ...? Thanks again

If you revolve a square shape you will end up with almost like a hockey puck shape. If you are wanting a square or "cubed" shape as your final 3D artwork you should use the Extrude command instead of the Revolve command. You can still map artwork to the Extruded 3D shape the same way as I showed in the video.

you could also just direct select and delete the opposite anchor point of a circle :P
