Good morning first of all you have a great tutorial my only question is the following when you are using your rectangle tool and you put it on top of the fingers you were joining the lines together with the fingers but it was too quick for me to understand could you please explain either in text or could you create another video explaining how you did that portion thank you overall great video what is the best one so far I’ve seen

So for that, I added and deleted anchor points. So just have you object selected then open the pen tool again and select where you want to add anchor points. Once you have done that then open direct selection and delete the anchor points you want to remove :) Hope this helps

Nice video but a little advice. The camera refocuses very often constantly blurring the background whenever your hand is there. Try locking the focus of the camera onto the iPad screen so that it eliminates this issue.👍

For tracing, the desktop version provides two crucial tools...the first is the ability to have each layer in an independent view mode (keyline or preview) and the second tool is the layers options dialog for controlling image dimming, print toggling, template setting among others. Does Illustrator for iPad allow independent layer view modes? Also a small tip...if your imported image is saved in grayscale mode you can colourized it by applying a colour swatch to it....thus obviating the need to change image opacity before you start tracing.
@marktoth43793 жыл бұрын
Yes. I just started using it a few days ago and it does have the ability to view individual layers. I don’t speak the lingo/jargon yet. But if making certain layers invisible to leave the single layer you want counts as independent view then yes. It has that. It took me forever but yesterday I finally found the way to dim the layer I loaded up(hand drawn sketch) which I’m intending to recreate in digital version.
@marktoth43793 жыл бұрын
Can I ask you a question? Is that an efficient method? I’m a regular old school artist but I’ve been really wanting to switch over to mainly working digital. Is it a good/sensical method to do that? Uploading a picture taken of my paper drawing and go from there? Or are there way more efficient methods? I’ve been an artist my whole life. I usually get the hang of everything I’ve ever tried when it comes to regular/old school artwork. But this is so different I have to admit it intimidates me a bit and I end up giving up relatively quickly. Is it really that different? Or am I just psyching myself out by having the wrong mindset or what? From my little experience with digital art and that community it seems like most who do it and even more so who are good at it seem like they started art with digital mediums (tech). From my perspective not too many people make, made or are making the shift from hand sketching/painting to adobe illustrate, Fresco, etc. Am I right? Is it all in my head? Am I just superimposing things that I assume or what!? Art has always been second nature for me so I’m kind of freaking out because art is the one thing I’ve always felt totally at home with. So tbh…. I’m kinda FREAKIN out man! Please help a bro out with whatever you can or give me some recommendations on how I can get the type of help I need. Thanks in advance!
