I am a professional in film and video, and certainly not an audio guy except as a hobby or out of necessity (wearing a lot of hats for some video productions), but this was a great comparison and to my ear it almost sounds like the Adobe speech enchance made it sound like it was recorded on a different microphone entirely! And one not very well matched to the speaker's voice. Very odd. Thanks for taking the time to share!

Your processing is much better. I found that if I have a recording made in an untreated environment The adobe speech enhance is okay for a quick improvement. However the EQ seems to be a weak point.

Could be another option yes. Have you used it for voice overs?

@@LanewoodStudios Yes, it works quite well. I used it on speech tape recorded in a room with air conditioning. Spectralayers Elements, which I purchased on sale, has the noise reduction feature and others I needed for a multi-tape project. I selected a sample of the noise, and registered it. A dialog gives options for tolerance and ratio, which I had to experiment with, but a preview is available before processing. Too much and the voice sounds metalic or hollow, and too little leaves some noise. I tried it on your girlfriend's unprocessed clip, and the default settings 75% worked perfectly, preserving breaths and sounding very natural.
