HOW TO MAKE SIMPOL ADOBONG PUTI
Join #ChefTatung as he shares a #Simpol soy-free #Adobo recipe!
Who doesn’t love adobo? Every Filipino grew up enjoying their own household’s version of adobo, while foreigners usually start with adobo as an introduction to Philippine cuisine. Here, try a version that skips the soy sauce but ends up just as (or even more) delicious than the classic. Don’t forget about the dipping sauce AND the extra, extra cups of steamed white rice. Winner! Let’s start cooking #SimpolAdobongPuti!
INGREDIENTS
1 kilo pork belly
1 teaspoon rock salt
1 head garlic, crushed
1 tablespoon crushed peppercorns
3 to 4 laurel leaves
3/4 cup Datu Puti Vinegar
1/4 cup Datu Puti Patis
1/4 cup oil
For the dipping sauce:
Datu Puti Vinegar
garlic
red chili

Matagal tagal na din ako dito sa "Middle Earth", Hehehe, kalokohang tawag namin dito sa sa middle east. Matagal na din akong hindi kumakain ng baboy. Pero nung mapanood ko ang video na ito, mejo parang nag crave ako ng konti. Hehehe! Sarap! Try ko lutuin ito pag nakapag bakasyon ulit. Thanks, Chef Tatung!

thank you so much for this recipee which reminded me of my lolas adobo but she just called it adobo and not adobong puti which i love so much,back then she would cook a big batch of this adobo and will store it in a container and pack the adobo into the same oil which will turn to lard when it cooled and thus preserving it.when its time to eat (usually breakfast) she would just scoop it into a hot kawali with lard and all to heat it up and even add more garlic and make the fried rice on the same kawali.

I’ve never tried adobong puti but I tried it the other day and ohmy it’s so good! I love my adobo to be sour and I finally found the perfect recipe! Thanks to you!

We're cooking this right now and the smell in the kitchen is awesome...ang bango! Sinundan namin lahat as directed except that ginawa naming chicken thigh and legs ung half kilo...Thank you for the easy to follow and practical recipes. You make seemingly complicated recipes, SIMPOL! 😊♥️♥️♥️

i remember my late father noong bata pa kami.mga late 70s.nag jatay sya ng alagang baboy namin kase waka kaming ulam.malayo kase kami sa market.aadubuhin halis lahat ni papa ang kinatay na baboy except sa ulo at paa.we make a poek soup out sa paa.ang ulo binibigay sa kapitbahay.gano mag adibo papa ko.suka na pure galing talaga sa sanggutan.then asin at maraming garluc.wakang patis.puting puri ang resulta at ang tagal maubos.we will just reheat the big earthen pot(kolon)pag matolog ang mantika.i miss my father cooking.he cook better than my mother

Sa Bicol ko to natikman. Dinala ng kaibigan ko noong nagfield work kami. Pero yung version na dinala nya eh fried. Masarap sa kanin.

I believe adobo puti originated from Pampanga. I remember my grandma and mom made it that way.

I agree dong, masarap talaga ilamas sa kanin ang left over na oil, pero madaming cholesterol iyan di ba? di pwede sa may high blood.

Ilocos adobo is also without soy sauce. Rock salt is used.

Another simpol recipe po and that’s one of my favourite Filipino dish, Adobo but never try to cook the adobong puti maybe next time when I crave again for a different one from the adobo I used to cook before like adobong baboy or pork adobo, chicken adobo and combination of pork and chicken adobo sooo yummy 😋 thanks po sa recipe❤️

Adobong puti ng lola ko walang patis.. Suka, garlic, bay leaves, pepper corn, salt lng tpos gamit nya either pork or chicken na naka cube ng maliliit pgka cut. Medyo may sabaw. Sobrang sarap. 😁

Bigla ko naalala ang namayapang tatay ko noon nabubuhay pa sya Yan ang specialty from Balagtas Bulakan Ginagawa nya slow cook at hayaang magmantika at maprito sya. At Yung mantika na Naiwan sa kawali sabay luto sya ng sinangag 😊😊

This adobo was the recipe that my Lolo used to prepare especially when he travels from our province in Cagayan Valley to Manila and offered it as pasalubong to us in a "garapon". This adobo is i think similar from my Lolo's adobo, but this would be more delicious if cooked on firewood and a blend taste of smoke.. yummy..

Thanks, chef for that little info whether hahaluin ba o hindi what you're cooking after adding vinegar. I think yung mga suka lang na nabibili sa mga tabing kalsada that come in 1 l. soda bottles (home made? ) ang di dapat haluin, kc I've been cooking for a long time at hinahalo ko agad after adding vinegar like datu puti, hindi naman nahihilaw.

Datu Puti is not natural vinegar, it's the chemical equivalent to acetic acid.
