I had the same conflict for a while. I finally made the decision to tell my parents so I can get tested and I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty rough and I keep second guessing myself. But it does more harm to leave it and nor know them to just take the leap and find out. That's what my friend told me.

If it's truly bothering you in your daily life, go get tested. Even if it's not ADHD, then it's probably something else which you can find out during the testing (for example, people with ADHD are at higher risk of depression, but depression itself is also very similar to ADHD)

Same. Fun fact: 40% of people with Autism have ADHD. I found that the Autism plays against the ADHD, and you have little to no control over your sensory or emotional regulation and everything becomes an overwhelming mess.

I always thought the things tht i do such as being WAY TOO talkative, not being able to understand the teacher even aft explaining multiple times, getting worked up over the tiniest things, had to walk around the sch during break time, not being able to organize my table, misplacing things in my house and had to go to the restroom several times during class, was all just my “personality” of being lazy and incompetent. This makes me feel so validated.

When I was 10 I was tested for adhd a few times but came back negative. Now I’m 17 and the symptoms are more present and I tell my mother but she won’t get me tested again because of how much I’ve been tested for different things. But I came positive anxiety, depression and ptsd at 14.

I have mild adhd, witch havent been that Big of a problem for me. I Can Kinda relate to both people with stronger adhd (and other mental disorders) and to people with No mental disorder. But i have had Some hard times figuring out What it meant and who i was. I have felt like No one understood me and like i was weird and my brain wasnt working correctly. But then i learned to love myself th way i was and that there was “good” sides to it too. Now i know that my adhd doesnt make my brain less functional but just different.

so, i think i have adhd. my dad and brother have the combined type and i think my grandpa did too. the thing is, i’m very inattentive, like VERY. i just space out during normal conversations, i’m very disorganized, i forget about important events, i’m always fidgeting, i have trouble understanding things that are hard for me to focus on, i have anxiety, low self esteem, etc. but the thing is, i always done great in school, in fact, i’ve always been from the best in my class. it’s not like i understood always the teachers, only if i really understood and liked the subject, and when the exams came i just would wait until the very last day to study and i had a lot of trouble studying even if i tried my best. nevertheless i got good grades, i still do, but now that high school started, i saw the symptoms even more obvious, i really can’t focus on class, i’m doing well cause i really focus on many projects and exams, yet i fail to understand and remember the classes and my schedule. my organization is HORRIBLE, for every aspect of my life, i just can’t get my room neat cause i promise i’ll clean it up and i never do, my agenda is empty, i forget about the easiest things. and more things i’m lazy to remember right now. and i told my mom and i’m getting a diagnosis, but the things is, my family just don’t believe me. as i’ve always been a “bright” student and i’m not hyperactive they never suspected anything and they still tell me i should stop the diagnosis. and this totally breaks me, cause it’s not like i want to have adhd, but i want to know why i can’t make other things like other kids, there are a lot of things that i can’t do, like finishing tasks, i rarely finish things and accomplish them. and omg i’m going on a totally different path here i’m sorry this is confusing. but to sum up, i’m scared of actually not having it and just being lazy and that my family was right this whole time

I feel like I'm dying. I'm so happy for being alive for the first time of my life, I'm not depressed anymore but I feel like I don't work. I'm taking Wellbutrin and I told my doctor that I think I need more stimulants, something for ADHD and she told me to become more organize, to set up alarms on my cellphone like I never tried that. I'm doing therapy but it's not working, I don't wanna talk abou my past, I wanna talk about the now. I'm trying extremely hard and sometimes my brain just shuts down.
