As a rangers fan, Bochy was pretty much the main reason that they won the chip. Yes we signed a bunch of new players, but comparing that to our old lineups in the 2010s? Their batting was nearly just as good but our defense sold with so many heartbreaking errors in the playoffs. The rangers this past year have been one of three teams in mlb history to complete a postseason run without committing a single error. Ron Washington couldn’t fix the defense, Bannister couldn’t either but Bochy did, in which I will forever be thankful for

I will say the Astros had to win a Series of games against the DBACKS to be in a position to be in first place. We almost missed the play-offs. I was born in Houston 66 years ago, grew up in near by Pasadena, married a girl from Dallas, moved here after college, bought land outside of Dallas. The Astros never amounted to much back in the day, so I didn't have any allegiance to them...we called them the "Disastros". Although I'm more of a football fan(Cowboys), I followed the Rangers through two failed world series in '10 and '11. Been following them all season this year, and I'm damned glad I did. Go Rangers!

I get they are the villains, but being an older weaker more injured team than last year I thought they showed a lot of fight coming back from down 2 games. Not like they rolled over and died like the braves, rays, and dodgers. Not worried about the Astros at all, it was a down year and we still made game 7 of the ALCS. In 2024 we get both Lance McCullers Jr and Luis Garcia back from Tommy John, both are starters which means we have an instant bullpen upgrade next season. Dusty is retiring and hopefully we will hire Joe Espada as his successor. This is gonna be Dana Brown’s 1st offseason so I’m excited to see what he cooks up. We have a solid roster, we just need another great hitter, some help in the outfield, and some extra bullpen arms. No more Maldy at catcher which will be a big help, Diaz can take over full time. I think we bounce back hard next season. Window isn’t close to closed and I’m tired of seeing our faithless doomer fans saying it is. It’s a tough loss, good job by the Rangers, but this isn’t even close to the end of the Astros.

Why calm down? As a fan of neither team, this is the best scenario. A one-sided rivalry is not a fun rivalry, so the Rangers claiming this victory was the best outcome IMO. Now both teams have a reason to be fired up and talk their noise.

Regardless, Altuve didn't ever participate in the scandal. It's been confirmed across the board. Read the book about the scandal written by a New York writer, it goes way more in the depth then the MLB report. Everyone says Altuve didn't participate. That is why you don't see him regress like you've seen Bregman, Correa, and Springer regress compared to their 2017 days.
