Great mom. Finds a spot, high up on top of the fence, where the kids are safe to play and she can keep an eye on them and any potential threat that may be lurking. While the kids play and explore she takes a much deserved break from having those little ones, constantly under foot. Moms of every species can be so similar.

I moved to S. AZ in 2016. I had only been there for a month or so, and was standing on my patio at dusk, when this beautiful Bobcat strolled across my yard. I stood perfectly still and just basked in her beauty. She carried on her way. ❤

That sounds like such a magical experience! Bobcats are truly stunning creatures, and it must have been incredible to witness one up close.

Americans are so lucky. The UK is an actual wildlife desert compared with the US. I'm in S Wales where we have seagulls, pigeons and squirrels in the local park, thats it. I haven't seen a hedgehog for a decade, you use to see them every night. Same with Foxes. Some still boast about the UK countryside but most of it is a barren grass monoculture.
@jfbPhotos9 күн бұрын
It's interesting to hear your perspective! Wildlife can vary so much from place to place. Hopefully, more efforts can be made to restore natural habitats and bring back some of those lost species.

Well they might be dangerous to small pets. And possibly babies and toddlers, but in general yes. Though I prefer when wild animals are in the wild. Urban life doesn't suit them, many bad things can happen to them in urban locations.

Wonderful photography. Thanks for sharing your story about them. I just can't wrap my head around how people trap and hunt these cats for "sport", only to probably come home to a housecat or a dog after doing so. Hunting of Bobcats, Lynx and Cougars should be illegal in all 50 states. They aren't trees and don't need to be "managed" by people, except in extreme circumstances like a rabid animal. It's the height of human hubris and saddens me that people take happiness in cruelly killing these creatures instead of appreciating them and leaving them be.
@jfbPhotos10 күн бұрын
Thank you for your thoughtful comment! It’s disheartening to see how some people treat these magnificent creatures. We need to raise awareness and advocate for their protection.
@suzanne5298 күн бұрын
@@jfbPhotos I know this will be controversial, but I live in rural Western Oregon. There is an abundance of deer, yet cougars are killing livestock instead of the deer they are meant to eat. Cougar have no natural predators, so they are increasing in numbers rapidly. The cougars also "thrill kill", wipe out entire flocks of sheep and goats. Sometimes to teach their young how to do it. It is a real problem. Yes, Cougars are a beautiful animal, powerful and majestic. Yes, farmers are learning they must protect their livestock with dogs and stout shelters. But there must be some kind of control. There are bobcats here too that sometimes cause problems with livestock but not often. Your photos of these bobcats is wonderful. Beautiful creatures. At least the mom was teaching her kittens to fear humans (when the person walking her dog went by).

The bobcat triggered your watch? How do you trigger a watch? That's kind of weird.
@jfbPhotosКүн бұрын
I have Wyze camera's setup to monitor the front door. The Wyze app with notifications turned on triggers your phone or watch (Apple watch in my case) if motion is detected. It even sends a thumbnail to the watch so you can ID what triggered the camera.

@jfbPhotos The west coast of Florida is my favorite and the most beautiful part of the state imo. Longboat Key and that area have an effect on me. A powerful allure that I can't quite put into words. Funny thing is that I'm originally from California. Los Angeles to be exact and SoCal has an effect on me as well. To me it's the unique dry weather you have there. The air is completely different and I'm not talking about smog or pollution. For example up in Santa Clarita the morning air is literally night and day from what it feels like in Florida. In Florida we have this really oppressive humidity that just weighs on you. In Cali it's so crisp and energizing in the morning. I love that feeling! Cheers!
