It's also political. Don't think for a moment that McAfee didn't consider the 2nd and 3rd order consequences. He's very powerful and has powerful friends. He just neutered Woj and made his friend Shams more powerful while also putting others at ESPN. If you smell what Pat is cookin.

Woj got booted. If it was Woj's ego, he would have left to do the same thing. The money was so big that Woj would have taken a payout or waited until his contract was over. It makes no sense at all what happened. There is obviously more to this story and it was spun. Iger doesn't want bad PR for Disney or its talent. Woj probably took it from multiple sides. I can't wait for Perk bombs.

It’s referenced in another video.. but there was an unofficial policy @ESPN that scoops had to be said by insiders… Amin let out a scoop of a trade and got scolded for not reporting to ESPN which would have gone to Woj.. Wiley tells a similar story when he leaked the story that Harbaugh was going to Michigan… had to talk to espn brass, that he didn’t go through the proper channels and Schefter..

Constantly, it used to be entertaining because it was taking jabs at his elitest bosses, but ever since they left ESPN it has been kinda sad and more like a distraction from how bad the show has gotten. It used to be hilarious and they didn't take themselves serious...now they're the "if we don't use our platform and reach to advocate for change it's irresponsible of us". Was here to defend Woj (I'm biased, sue me) but closed out the video when LeBatard criticized Kelce for his language and McAfee for getting wasted. Both of those events were pretty much unanimously loved by anyone under the age of 50. Kelce and McAfee are pundits, not journos. They're allowed to have some fun and it helps ESPN's brand when they do. That's "fun" within reason, of course. If McAfee shows up loaded for shows on a regular basis, there's a problem. And saying that Shannon Sharpe "has a sex tape" is just blatantly dishonest phrasing. He accidentally went live on IG while he was having sex. Nothing pornographic was shown on camera, you could only hear audio. "Sex Tape" implies you had a pornographic video leaked or released, which is NOT what happened. I'm not planning on watching LeBatard's content again.

It's definitely a big loss for ESPN's basketball coverage, but Woj has as much baggage with him as he does accolades. ESPN already made the decision to lean more into the entertainment aspect of sports reporting rather than the ethical journalistic approach. Does that make for a worse product? That's far too subjective to give a response.

This actually says a lot about Pat to stand behind the guy who’s been breaking news on his show for years. Didn’t know Woj told him he called the basketball shots at ESPN and he couldn’t be on anymore and he realized he had no say and left. Lmfao. This is why I like Dan and trust his journalistic integrity he tell the story how it happened and then he gives his opinion but he still told you what happened you know what’s his opinion and you know the truth. Pats never claimed to be a Journalist they don’t even claim to have the full story they look at what’s on the internet which is why they have the news first and why they get got a lot but that’s what makes it fun is them believing something calling the person and being told they’re wrong or right.

If Journalist had original content it wouldn't be so easy for athletes to take over. The Kelce Brothers are unique because they respect their peers, guests, and ppl in general. They are NEVER hurtful. You feel at home. Listen to this man expressing his jealousy and hate toward podcasts and it's obvious their success is his issue. He should give that a try.

If you look into the connections behind woj and former executives and coaches from San Antonio, you will see why Kyrie was reported the way he was. Woj was close with people on the nets which is why he never reported anything negative about them. They basically had him disparage kyries name after he posted the video link. Compare the way they covered that story in comparison to JJ reddick saying the slurs against Asians and you will realize what’s going on.

So Dan said forget about sports, let me get this pain off my chest.....Dan sounds scorn,jealous, and bitter. Dan these athletes earned the right academically and through sport to be in the position theyre in. People forget sports is not our only obligation in life. People like Dan crumble when its time to compete , and this new media is full of athletes ready to take the same energy they had to reach the highest level of their sport to the media industry.

I have a hard time believing a functional, grown man would quit over a “power struggle” with someone who barely covers the sport he’s upset over. But if Woj had a hissy fit over not be Pat’s guy, that’s on him. Rapsheet was gonna be the guy instead of Schefter until NFL Network gave him a show airing at the same time.

just a sad sad little man, can't get over the fact Pat changed the game, made it about love and appreciation and actually played the game he talks about. This dinosaur over here is well over extinct to the point he had to put Pat's name in the title so it would be suggested under Pat's videos, he came for the GOAT and pat's fans showed up, a sad clickbait leach.

@doubleDMD
@doubleDMD 3 ай бұрын
Making this video is also a poor attempt at "journalism" You really are cherry picking out events and tailoring them to a negative narrative. We are also acting as if a sports network drops some "very serious" news. ALL OF it is entertainment in whatever capacity it comes, Pat Mcafee and Shannon Sharpe do not take on some holy stance on journalistic integrity, they are athletes who are entertainers, for many of us we prefer that to the BS like this.

Dan's a bright guy and a thoughtful guy, but he's not as good at this meta behind the scenes stuff as he thinks he is. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he intends it as full disclosure but it's a lot closer to navel gazing than anything else.
