Im really sad how much DS shat on poor Adder. He got removed entirely from the campaign, got replaced by a copy cat character AND his character design received a huge downgrade (especially his eyes. In AW2 he had black sockets with white glowing rings inside them for eyes - in DS he just got really weird make up around a normal set of eyes. Same for Hawke btw). At least they did his theme justice. That one transitioned over to DS quite well - unlike Flak or Lashes themes.

How that one mission with Sonja where I had to destroy your Fortress' minicannons, and you had a fleet of like 20 bombers that I couldn't see, but you could see me just fine, seeing as how until Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, enemies could see your units the Fog of War with no problems...

On AW2 and DS, the AI cheats Even on forest and reefs, they will send units "accidentally" to spot you. Because the game wont allow him to target you. But for the AI, FoW doesnt exist

Battleships are pretty durable, but it will still be around 5-6 damage. What you DON'T want happening is that sub getting to that Lander that you've loaded with Md./Neo Tanks. Unless you've got Drake, there's a fifty-fifty chance that the lander and those tanks are sunk with just that one. If not, then a follow up from a most ground vehicles (Recon and either anti-air unit being the only ones that can't) or an aircraft with ground attack capabilities will finish it off.

Just need to play the game by CO tiers to let them all shine. Some COs are just flat out god tier (Hachi) while others are garbage (Grimm). If you play with tier brackets then your weaker CO will be balanced because ideally they will be fighting someone of roughly the same power. Adder is considered top 1 or 2 of the bottom tier.

@@MaxBurnHeart Pretty much. You've got 4 tiers COs are split in. Character like Adder (tier 4) will stand no chance against someone like Colin (tier 1), but against other tier 4s and potentially some 3s he can shine. Advance Wars is pretty poorly balanced CO wise.

Adder is a rusher where he must focus on flattening hostile forces before they can get their heavier gear out - basically, a neutered version of Sturm because his forces can move like they're on steroids. He doesn't last well in prolonged slugging matches since he lacks offensive and defensive talents.

Koal pros: Gets higher attack power on roads. Adder pros: Can use his CO Power almost every friggin' turn. Honestly? I actually prefer Adder because he can make use of his strength without the need of sacrificing defense. You usually don't want to end your turn on roads after all.

@@Shazam1998not really adder is in AWBW one of the worst CO's in the game at tier 4 (though debtatably the best in that tier) this is due to three things one his super CO power is just bad. like honestly? even if its cheap its a super, it needs to do something you will rarely see an adder super over sideslip and because of this any map with high income capacity adder automatically struggles as they'll be more supers second due to the lack of any kind of global damage or firepower buff at all he has alot of trouble making breakthroughs, and his abilities are best when you can make a breakthrough (getting units deep behind to strike from alternative angles and hit indirects) thirdly, adder gets stomped by many other CO's like grit, max, drake, olaf to name a few due to either global damage, getting walled out or just nothing to exploit with his COP a +1 move D2D would be quite powerful, seeing as it would allow you to roll out much quicker but otherwise? not really much to fix his problems

I like how a member of the Black Hole team's got some form of regular CO that tends to Trade hands rather well. Like in AW1 I find Max n Strum are the perfect "boxing meme" game of trading blows non stop; and not either of them dominate much because they're both on the same field. Here; Adder I find is perfect for that same aspect with Kanbei. Kanbei hates it when people fight dirty, and that's what Adder does. another two I find that fit the "throw hands" idea I have.

the first 2 games had such a charming artstyle, why did they gmove away from it, dual strike at least kept the sprites and battlefields the same but the character designs were so meh(the blackhole generals all look pretty good tho), DoR's characters have alot more ...character... but i cant stand the map and sprite designs
