Messed up = unhappy or emotionally upset = I've been messed up lately Something messed up=fucked up Cocky = showing confidence in an annoying way Woke = aware, especially of social problems like racism and inequality = everyone needs to be woke. That's why school should teach these things Ballsy = brave or determined =having the balls / guts to do something= he was very ballsy to do what he did yesterday Jaded = losing interest for something because you have experienced something too many times Moody =someone going from being happy to being unhappy Clingy =your girlfriend can be clingy Feisty (faisfi) = full of determination Ballin' = living a wealthy life spending tons of money=to be rollin' in money = she's making it rain = she's ballin' Kinky = unusual, strange and possibly exciting Cheeky = someone is rude or not showing respect in a funny way

@@nadiaal4307 yea in this sentence it's not correct to use such a + pretty. Because "pretty" is an adverb here. But when it's used as an adjective then u can use such a + pretty: ( like in this example) " Wow ! You' ve got such a pretty dress! 👗

Learning English is not to impress it is about being able to communicate. I mean it is important to learn advanced words just so you could specify what you really try to mean when you use the language but it is never trying to impress someone. A word alone has no substance in it, it is the message that matters.

Very interesting vocabulary list, but as a native speaker of English, I have to say that some of it strikes me as a little slangy to be using in everyday speech. Aside from the slightly vulgar overtones of most slang, its real danger is that it tends to fall out of fashion fairly quickly as the culture changes over time. For example, the "groovy" slang of my youth (1960s and 1970s) elicits nothing but eyerolls today. That's why most English teachers generally avoid teaching it and caution their students to be very careful in adopting it.

I once heard that the vocab we use is highly influenced by the community we live in; therefore regional slang might be meaningful to a group of people and mean nothing or even the opposite to others. An NNS of English must double, triple, or quadruple his attention when entering these uncharted waters.

I mostly knew all of these adjectives but my English is out of whack sometimes due to different sense of meaning - I believed that jaded is something of the old, passed by, like the rust on steel, relating to the past which will be no more.

It sounds good but I have problems remembering all these words. The first one is also known in German as "so-called--so genannt" and it is used in the same way. Nevertheless, You are a great teacher with clear pronunciation.
