It's always good to revisit the kinetic chain, but 3rd shot is not actually a shot, it's a play. Your partner should be standing a little bit in front, turned to watch your execution. Then you both have to read the quality of the shot to decide whether to advance aggressively, hold your ground, or even backpedal a step (if the drop is horrible). If the choice is to advance aggressively, it helps if you are stepping forward through the shot to get a head start on your sprint to the NVL. It's a big deal when you know that you have made a good drop or a bad drop, so you can decide whether to continue to stride forward, freeze in place, or even scoot back (always together). With enough practice, often you will know even before you contact the ball, which then permits you to integrate your sprint to the NVL more seamlessly.

hardly any 'advanced' advice here ... disappointing

It’s as advanced as a third ball drop video can be since it’s not really an advanced shot.

All levels can benefit from going back to the basics from time to time. Also, not many instructors focus explicitly on the kinetic chain which I found helpful.

This is not topspin shot , paddle is open looking up during contact. See more desirable technique at kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXjWZp6baJ1-Y9Esi=cmXZURdGfwpjt1Nk
