Awesome to hear you bring up pet positioning. It is more important for unholy burst aoe than people think in these quick add spawns and it’s something I’ve been working on too! Definitely suggest macros and binds for pet management. I have 3 buttons on my naga mouse dedicated to pet management. An @ cursor move, follow, and dismiss. Pet management sounds tedious, but it’s made so much easier with macros and binds. I see too many people in the comments scared by it lol. Macros and binds people!

Love the undead theme more than ever. It does just feel a bit clunky to get things running in m+ pulls compared to a lot of specs right now. Major setup and ramp.

I wouldnt say clunky especially considering how smoother UH is currently than it was previously. people (including me) were worried whether these better cd allignments and the flat 3 min cd of army would eliminate skill expression for unholy but it just gave us more choices to excel at. with that said I do agree that it requires quite some level of expertise to prep and plan out all the gimmicks to all situations (but I think unholy was always similar)

Have you done any digging into non-superstrain cleave builds? I did a bunch of sim work and found a handful of seriously underpreforming talents within the standard Commander of the Dead raid build, that can be swapped for easy pickups like Mennacing Magi and Hellchains. With low add uptime, Clawing Shadowa+Reaping does a very large amount of up front AoE damage. I'm finding Superstrain takes far, far too long to actually ramp its damage in functional scenarios. Reaping Claws and Mennacing Magi has given me much stronger preformance on fights like Court, Bloodbound, and Ovinax, than the builds suggested on WoWhead or Acherus. Foul Infections is in the vein of a 0.1% damage increase for Commander, and Unholy Blight is does as much damage as one single non-reap Clawing Shadows Cleave while being absurdly hard to line into add windows reliably withiut desync. Plague does so little damage in Commander builds that UB's application is generally meaningless, especially when Improved Death Coil+Deadliest Coil aretaken. I only drop less than 50k single target damage, still retain the strong Commander burst profile, and gain massive fast damage AoE between CS+Reaping and Mennacing Magi. 50% Hellchains uptime is all it takes for Hellchains to just straight up beat Unholy Blight on everything exept Plague application, and it's so much easier to achieve that 50% Chains uptime than the 6 second Blight window. Plague's only utility is enabling Epidemic, which only starts to break even with cleaved Coils at 4+ targets, and remains a minor improvement until 6+. Sustained 5+ target AoE is simply not a combat state to optimize for in current tier, IMO. Even in M+ right now, when you start to get into the 10+ range, pulls tend to be very small, and can rarely capitalize on the high AoE caps that Superstrain brings to the table. My go-to high key build is the adaptations listed above from conventional Commander ST builds, along with dropping Deadliest Coil for Festerscythe. I simply have not found that the modern metagame has the high duration, high mob count pulls that Superstrain thrives in, either in M+ or raid. UH's biggest strength is in single target damage, and trading that out for mass AoE, to the tune of losing around 300k ST DPS and your ST burst profile, in a season that doesn't value mass AoE, is feeling like a major oversight in the current state of Unholy theorycrafting.

I see many big pumpers dont take the deathcoil cleave talent, which i personally love for those packs with two big mobs and lots of smallers adds or just the possibility to do a serious two target cleave

Wouldn't you lose DPS moving your pet mid fight since it will stop attacking while it repositions? Just wondering if that extra GCD from pressing DT instead of outbreak is worth the lost damage from the pet movement, especially if he is off in narnia.

As I understand it, he's seeing DBM tell him when adds are going to spawn, so like 3 seconds before he moves his pet from the boss to where adds spawn so he can dot everything up to do massive AOE dmg before the adds die. He will lose a little single target but gain massive multitarget damage. Essentially padding but it does make a difference for parsing.

Just macro this: Pet attack on a key bind (let say K) and the the Move to with the alt or shift modifier. Then you just have to alt K and point where the adds will spawn, then immediately after, just K to attack the boss

UH has been really solid in my heroic raids, im beating out most other people I play wiuth but its all relative perspective. (Currently 5/8 H 610 ILvl only 2 piece for tier though)

@@davidprchal9217 frost is ahead is dps (I don’t think massively In top content) but I find unholy just a blast to play and I still leave keys with 1.9+ million dps. Breath can definitely pump in raids however and most of the time I get beat by my frost DK pal
