Why do you need the splitter node at all? I did the contrast pop on just a single node, and it seemed to have the same results

Thanks for the great video! In Davinci 16 the splitter combiner node has been done away with...how would you do the advanced sharpening in this case?

Popping by in 2022 to say thanks for posting this. So helpful! 😅 Just wondering, could the window we use to mask the effect be animated to cover a moving subject? And could that be done automagically instead of per frame/keyframe?

Wow! This is a step too far for me at the moment, but the result is great. I'm looking forward to being able to instinctively know which tool to use. Thanks.

Has this changed in resolve 17? Because the image does get "wonky" now when I change the color space to lab in the first node. It apparently doesn't only change the controls anymore?

This technique is impressive it looks super cool on water drops like rain etc.

I am very curious to know that How you or other people who make tutorials Learn this Advance Technics ? 🙏
@Miesnermedia6 жыл бұрын
Hey Dipender! The ideas come from all over the place and mostly doing deep dives in the more technical aspects of coloring ie: how raw processing actually works, different color spaces, etc... For this one I was reading about color spaces and trying to figure out the benefits of using more "exotic" transforms. I loaded up the lab space and saw some things that I thought were interesting, then tried to figure out some neat things to do with those things that caught my eye. tldr: learn something new, play around with it until you come up with something interesting, tell people it's an "advanced technique" on youtube ;) -Theo

I cannot import 3440x1440 video into davinci resolve, it says "Media Offline", what can I do?
@TheModernFilmmaker5 жыл бұрын
The free version of davinci is very limited to what video codecs it works with. For instance the GH5 4k 8 bit works fine in the free version but not the 4k 10 bit. Same file type but slightly different codec. You can fix this by using another program to convert your video file to something Resolve likes more, like DNxHR, pro res, or cineform.
