Building control is another thing I keep messing up. Thanks for these 😀 Ohh and thought of another bite-sized (not sure if you already did it). A unit that uses assault movement and subsequently breaks, is no longer considered to be using assault movement if subsequently fired on by something else.

I'm been thinking more about control because I've being trying to design more scenarios and wording of control, and which type of control, is pretty important. I can your suggestion to a future bite-sized. Thank!

6:22 choosing to take the DM off, especially if you were in hindrance terrain forces, the opponent to fire upon that unit to re-DM the unit instead of potentially firing on a good unit good or bad that depends on the situation, but it forces the enemy to take that decision otherwise, you simply self rally him and don’t have to route him further away from the frontespecially this eight morale unit

It depends on who's turn it is I guess. If there's no DM and it's my opponents turn I would choose another target because there will be no self rally attempt starting my next turn. And if it's my turn I would probably choose to put him under DM (especially 8 ML) so it screws up the future self rally opp.

Excellent! I think I mentioned it before, but with the complexity of ASL you will never run out of these bite-sized tidbits!

Very true!

Another great video. So, this may not be the place but I have a VASL ASLSK2 question. On board W the VASL los tool shows the los between O6 and J3 blocked by the two-hex building in L4. O6 is on a level 1 hill and J3 is on a level 1 hill and L4 is on level 0. How can a one level building one level below me block los between two level 1 hexes?

Because the VASL boards include LOS rules from full ASL, where the building in K5/L4 actually has an upper story (level 1) because it's a 2 hex building, which makes it a 1.5 level obstacle. Using SK rules the building only has a ground level and is considered 1 level obstacle, so the LOS isn't blocked...it goes right over the building. SK players need to be careful of relying on the VASL LOS to determine LOS. For example, on the same board sting a LOS from O6 to K8, it's clear because the M7 building is a 1 level obstacle in both full ASL and SK.

OK! Thank you! That makes sense now. I'm still remembering the SL rule that 3+ hex buildings were 2 levels and had the square representing stairwells. I had never heard of 1.5 level buildings before. I suppose a unit cannot be on the .5 level. It is still a 1 level building for occupancy reasons I imagine.@@ASLAcademy
