Nice review. Have to say I like that you use the actual game pieces when making your tutorials. Thank you for these

The pain is here. This is where real problems start. Tanks are even worse. Thank you for the tutorial.

Tanks description is ok, and the To Hit mechanic is quite similar. However when it comes to understanding which DRM to apply because something moved at some point, oh boy it's painful indeed haha

The TH process only become foggy (IMO) when vehicle movement starts happening. I intend to demystify this by showing that vehicles are just guns with wheels. 😁 I think what trips up a lot of players is the whole concept of "Motion, Stopped, Non-stopped", what they mean, and when they apply.

@@ASLAcademy this for sure ! The terminology is quite strange, but makes sense when you get in which phases each one applies :) What always makes it foggier for me is the Bounding Fire and Bounding First Fire... I've finished to understand that you always had a DRM if you moved, and more with the C cases, but it's not always easy to explain and teach... And then you add the AFV different MGs and when you can/cannot use them, and my brain is fried haha

@@InikoMonkoya Yep. On paper looks good, but when you start the game is like "...ok is this legal or do I do this right?". I do hope I`ll learn all these things here.

Just recently got back into ASL with a friend using VASL... love your site and please keep the videos coming, they have been a great help as a reminder of rules and even learning things I did not know.

I’ll come back to watch this later, but I want to thank you for creating these high quality vids. Great picture. Now, I just need to find an ASL partner to focus on learning ASL and also playing HASLs.

Thanks Todd. I also appreciate your videos...I used to play other games back in the day, and they expand my wargaming horizons beyond ASL!

One Gun that is not a MTR and has a printed range on the counter is the French Canon Antichar de 25 SA-L mle 34 with a maximum range of 45 hexes. That is still longer range than you will use in most scenarios, but you might encounter such a range in a desert scenario. For the limbered German 2cm FlaK 30, the significance of the lack of an "L" on the caliber is covered in German MAON C, "When using Limbered Fire the Barrel Length Modification (C4.1) on the counter's LF side is used for To Hit purposes; the Basic To Kill number, however, is still determined using the Caliber Size and Length printed on the unlimbered side." It is partially considered an "L" Gun; the "L" bonuses do not apply for To Hit but still apply for To Kill. That is what the asterisk on the caliber indicates. Note that the asterisk/star for having a note is *before* the caliber size while the asterisk for short barrel length is *after* the caliber size. The British Shermans have a star before the caliber size, and many players mistakenly think the British Sherman has a short barrel length.

Very helpful once again. I'm going to have to watch the defensive fire video again. I think I still don't get it right.

This has been super helpful for me, thank you! Once question I have is about the manhandling #. In Beyond Valor I see some Guns with just black M and # (M1A2), and some have black M# with a black circle (M2A1), what is the difference?

Oh just one point, I think you may have forgotten to talk about the white circles on the counters. Are these info about the traverse and TCA ? Like for AFV ? I couldn't find anything in chapter C, but did only a quick look..

Yep, had every intention of mentioning it, but forgot. Indicates a 360 degree mount. Typically only AA Guns have them. I'll try to bring it up in a following video. Thanks!
