A summary of ten great days we've had in Iran, unfortunately we were just transiting through and did not have more time to spend in this country full of friendly, respectful people!
On our Trip we covered 15 countries and 30.000km in 232 days, more Information and lots of pictures on nowsomethingcompletelydifferent.blogspot.com (German language only, sorry for that...)

Oh yes, we really enjoyed Iran, it was one of the most positive surprises on the trip! We plan to return in a few years for about a month instead of just ten days!

wow, you guys broke all sorts of riding laws of the country. Iranians are pretty reckless themselves, but you guys, as foreigners, trying to have a good time, should have been more careful than riding the way you did inside the cities in particular. For instance, passing so fast 2 feet from parked cars is simply dangerous for you and whoever, who might open a parked car's door (13:26, 14:17). Overtaking from left and right side of cars with not much visibility before a corner (10:58), riding on the shoulder of the rode(11:12) etc. I hope next time you go, you will be more careful.

Mohammad Petgar : I believe you must not be a motorcyclist or even a fan, I can that tell from your comment. As motorcyclists we need to be confident, agresuve snd make our presence known to other vehicles around you or we get into a crash, if you ride a bike you know what I mean and if you don't, which I suspect to be the case, then you don't

Lalit, I see your point, but mine stems from the fact that tourists are our guests. We do not want any thing bad happen to them, even of their own doing. You don't want them to leave the country with a bad memories, or worse, crippled for life.

Sohail Mehrasa well, in the battle to "make our presence known to other vehicles", guess who loses, the little guy (the motorcyclist). No time to be romantic about it. All vehicles are weapons too.

hey! nice vid, i got a question tough, how well does that bike ages? i mean, is it durable? that's an LC4 Adventure, rigth?... And cheers from a Colombian Motovlogger!!
@triplehoernchen
@triplehoernchen 9 жыл бұрын
+lagartx3 Yes it is a LC4 Adventure! Well, old KTMs need regular servicing by someone that really cares about them, and servicing includes the regular (40.000-50.000km) replacement of the cam shaft+bearings, electric starter free wheel, water pump seals and a few other parts... Official Service intervals for oil change, valve clearance etc. are 5000km, but when not ridden hard i've extended that to about 7500km. - So I think the bike is only an option if you're capable of mending it yourself. Mine is now close to 100.000kms in total, i use it for daily commuting (75km) and so far I'm really happy with the reliability. But you need to put a lot of work in it to keep it run that well!

HI MATE ......great trip .......planning to visit iran by motorcycle in Aug 2017 and finding difficulties to obtain a carnet de passage for more than 7 days if we enter from tutkish border .......can u give us any tips ?
@triplehoernchen
@triplehoernchen 7 жыл бұрын
As far as I remember, the Carnet is always valid for a complete year, and when we applied for it they only wanted to know which countries we are planning to visit. They didn't ask about a schedule or how long we want to stay where and so on... But maybe things have changed or are handled differently in your country...

+triplehoernchen is that the case for most of the countries you visited on your trip ? im trying to do the same but information is conflicting ? for example i read your not allowed into thai land with a bike bigger than 250cc . thats obviously wrong . any info is really appreciated thanks
@triplehoernchen
@triplehoernchen 9 жыл бұрын
hoggath hogg Well, it was the case for Iran, Pakistan and India. Turkey, Nepal, Thailand and so on required no special precautions, the visa could be bought right at the border. For Nepal and Malaysia we also needed the carnet, and Thailand sort of has its own very time consuming customs system for foreign vehicles. I found very reliable information on horizonsunlimited.com Their HUBB-Forum is full of great input for long distance travelling!
