The Double Fire caught a lot of attention when it peaked around the corner sprinting towards the end of the year: A new Double-barrel Shotgun-style blaster that doesn't use shells and advertises an 80 foot range? Could it be just a reshell of the original Buzzbee Double Shot from 2005 or something entirely new? Only one way to find out.

In my opinion, the Double Fire fills the role of being a secondary shotgun perfectly. What's good about it is that you can shoot twice by only priming once, it almost feels like a burst rifle when the trigger is fully pulled, which isn't bad, ofcourse.

Loading into the body instead of the barrel was probably done for efficiency or cost saving. It's the simplest thing to make and does not have any seals to worry about.

I picked this up recently and I quite like it! When me and my friends do "pistol rounds", they usually let me use the Double Fire because it's so different from your typical Triad or Strongarm. My only complaints would be the grip (why are you like this, Buzz Bee) and the that there's only one dart holder. I say $10 well spent!

I literally just looked for this at my local Walmart earlier today after seeing it on their website earlier in the week. Just like your experience, I could not find this on the shelves anywhere. I even asked an employee for help and showed them on my phone that it was listed as in stock for pickup today. He told me he had never seen it before and the website must be wrong, that I should order it online and have it shipped there for pickup instead. Needless to say I was salty. He wouldn't even check the back. I was too busy to argue and ask for a manager or someone else to help. I had been scouring KZbin for videos on this thing all week and couldn't believe no one had one posted. I suspected it must be a new item as I had never seen it before either. Must be even newer than I realized. I had just finished watching your older throwback review on the 2 different Buzz Bee Double Shots as I got the notification you had posted this video. Talk about timing! Thank you so much for the review. I've been waiting to see one on this. And now I'm absolutely positive that my Walmart does in fact have this hiding in their back room and their employees just haven't gotten it on the shelves yet. I can't get my hands on a double shot so this seems like the best modern alternative. I'm gonna track one of these down this week. 10 bucks seems like a huge winner. Thanks again man. Great video! I know this is 9 months ago but I have to say, as a Walmart employee, there is no “back” to check- everything comes in in boxes off a truck and unless you wanna dig through the multiple pallets of stuff that’s sorted off of said truck you really can’t search for anything that might be in the back So no the employee was not being lazy they are literally incapable of spending an hour tearing down an entire pallet of boxes to look for your item of choice and putting it back together afterwards I get this is 9 months after I’m just really frustrated about working at Walmart and how dumb it is there, both dealing with employees and managers and with customers some times

I've worked retail long enough to know these things do happen. I hear your frustrations over customers but to sit here and claim things don't get put out on the floor of giant retail stores sometimes is flat out disingenuous. I was a manager of a stock room for years. I know how they work. I've literally fired employees for hiding stock instead of shelving it. So, maybe you do your job 100% to the tee every time but unfortunately that is just not true of everyone.

From my experience with Double Shots - chopping the barrel flush with the handguard is almost the only modification worth doing. Not only gives it the "shotgun pistol" look for a cowboy loadout (James Caan, I'm looking at you!), it also improves range quite a bit.

Dang you forgot to add darts into the barrels to make it feel more like a shotgun.Just recently bought one a month back and started having fun loading it and then adding more darts in the barrels so that when the orginal two fire it just sends a very small range of darts volleying everywhere.Max darts you can get in the barrels before darts start flying out is three each so you can potentially fire 6 to 8 darts at once but of course the more darts you add the less range you.Thank you for the informative video.

biohazard724 it might be possible, but you would have to mod it to have the priming string drop out of the bottom and you just pull it to prime, Walcom did it to a double shot in a video some time back, same technique should work for this

Soooo, its the Buzz Bee Doubleshot, but a bit stronger, and without the cool shells..? I mean, its _definitely_ not bad for what it is, but, I still feel like the original Doubleshot was a bit more.. 'fun' to field, even though that's very subjective and opinionated. I've run a sawn-down Doubleshot for ages, and I'm always buying shells for it from eBay and thrift stores, and I love its shell-based gimmick, but, this looks like something with promise. If you can saw it down, perhaps I can pick one up and dub it 'Boomstick MK2'. Yes. My original is just.. 'Boomstick', because I enjoyed Army of Darkness.

I really liked it when I got it and that was before I found this review at first it is kind of hard to Cock it but after you do it a few times it starts to loosen up a tiny bit and it makes it easier but that just shows they double print a model so that it's exactly the same in every way possible and they test one and keep it or throw it out or whatever and they give you one that hasn't even been tested because they're that confident. Worth it.

I was gonna try and saw off the awful stock to make it more comfy to hold, had no idea half the firing mechanism was housed in the stock. Really good tip: if you have a takedown and you want to shoot 4 people, prime it, pull the reset switch, making it shoo two rival rounds, but don't shoot yet, the barrel for the takedown can fit two darts, now you can shoot 2 rival rounds and 2 darts, just don't make the darts at a over under configuration, make it a side by side configuration

Having opened this thing myself, I find it really funny that you can just take off the barrel, barrel break trigger, and grip. It completely changes the experience when you are just pulling the string yourself.

You know looking at it you could possibly saw off the barrels and with a little know how you could convert it into the littlest shotgun from killing them softly

So, if you load the blaster, then dump 2-4 darts down the barrels, you get a shotgunnier effect. Obviously this kills range, but it might potentially be useful in close quarters. Perhaps an upgrade could partially nullify this disadvantage. Must investigate further.

You can cut off the barrel right before the foregrip and that should increase the velocity just a little bit

i do understand what you mean with the wish that you could load darts into the front barrel like the barrel break, but there wouldn't be a way to have the darts sit on the posts and press the air restrictors. With the barrel break, you have to push the barrel back after loading it, which pushes the darts to press the air restrictors, so unless it works the same as a barrel berak, it would be near impossible to load darts straight into the front, although if someone could actually find a way to load into the front and not have to push back, that would be sick

Saw off the excess barrel length that you don't need, should help a bit, that's why the barrel break had such short barrels and why it worked so well for its time.

It is actually pretty genius how it primes when it breaks, so it is pretty much the only blaster that functions like a real firearm

Buzzbee does lots of convincing break actions, with that string in the break. I know for sure that TWD Rick's shotgun, another Buzzbee double barrel, also has this break action but that one uses shells which load into the barrel side. They've done it for awhile.

My first thought is either tlkimg that barrel down or off entirely then you have a two shot that does up to 80fps those tubes are probably a detriment and sawn of sound better to me
