Love these 🔥 you should let me know what all I’d need to paint some converse beside acrylic paint and brushes.. like what’s that stuff you put on them first before painting ? And can you use just a sharpie or do I need a art marker too ?

Hello Libra, you need an acrylic gesso to prepare the shoe before painting. It acts as a primer to maximize paint adhesion. Yes you need a Sharpie to create the line art. You can also use other fine markers. Then after the artwork is done, seal the shoe with Angelus matte finisher. It will protect the shoes from scratches and fading. Thanks Libra!

I’m doing a nightmare before Christmas theme I’ve already sketched up for a pair of converses, but wanted to make sure the colors would be sealed good so I went on KZbin and came across your wonderful video and glad you replied.. I can’t wait to start my project this weekend.

sorry i have two questions: what is the name of that thing that rotates in 3:03 and that you placed your shoes on? and does the acrylic paint come off after you wash the converses? i would mean a lot if you answer them!

Rotating base. I bought it for 700 pesos at sm megamall, philippines. You can buy it online too. Acrylic paints wont come off. It is permanent once you painted it on the surface of the shoe.

Nope. I think both have their strength and weaknesses. Acrylic paints for best on canvas shoes. And Angelus acrylic leather paints are best for leather shoes. 💯🔥🔥

How long the paint stick on the shoes?

After application, the paint is permanent. I can last for a long time depending on use. It will slightly fade due to excessive use. ^_^

@@miadnamttoc7834 acrylic paints wont crack. it is permanent when dried. Gesso makes the paint adhere better. it also makes the paint appear more vibrant because it is not absorbed by the canvas cloth. Try to mix water with gesso. it is fine. but if you want to make the shoe canvas more flexible, use a fabric medium called Golden GAC 900. mix it with acrylic paints to retain the fabric softness of the product. Water tends to make the canvas cloth stiff.

RALPH CIFRA I’m aware of what gesso does I paint and I use gesso on my canvasesz I just mean on the fabric because the acrylic paint doesn’t have a medium. But I get you. I’d like to see these months after they’ve been work
