Join me on this full in depth tour of a beautiful 42' catamaran "Charm".
WELCOME!!! To this full in-depth tour of a beautiful 2005 42' Manta MkII sailing catamaran. "Charm" is the full time liveaboard home for the cruising couple Chris & Dean. Both retired Boeing engineers.
After looking online, I could not find many for sale. Since cruising catamarans are soo popular. But those that were similar to this boat are for sale from $250,000 - $350,000.
Chris & Dean have cruised and sailed long distance off and on for more than 30 years! This is the third sailboat they've owned. Hence the name, because third time is the "Charm". They've been on this boat for only a couple years. But now intend to stay on this boat for the foreseeable future.
What impressed me most about Dean & Chris. Was the way they both equally contribute to the boat. Something that's really rare to see on a sailboat. And something I'd love to see more as the sailing & cruising world modernizes.

And it got even better when I read the description they worked for Boeing, Im studying aviation and doing my chopper license at the moment. These guys are literally my idols. I have a banged up 23ft sailboat, aluminium hull. Nothing like Charm but. I love this boat and couple! Keen to see more

Why don't they make sailboats with these mods already built in? Thought I wanted Manta 42 until seeing you've got to be a seasoned electrical engineer and diesel mechanic before owning one. Those two are a couple of intellectually talented folks with what appears to be ample electro-mechanical training/education/experience. Anyway, great video! Lots of respect for this couple, and I'm very happy for them as they enjoy life on the water. Thanks.

We’ve got a Manta “Skyfall” currently in Marco Island. Finishing a mild refit with plans to start off in the Bahamas next season for 4-6 months and then beyond. Hope Michelle and I see you out there!

I think you missed my point. Going woke is not at all what I'm trying for. Like I said in the video, this is the first couple I've met where the woman usually handles the normally "blue" tasks. I think it's cool to see, and something that should be encouraged for many practical reasons.
