In 1977 lobster rolls were $6.95 sticking in my memory. Or maybe that was one claw lobsters. It has been a minute.... Leo loved looking out at the water. Probably was planning how the heck he was going to swim across THAT! Sorry you didn't get a sunny boat ride and to see some whales. Kara is absolutely the prettiest young lady!

When we were there we did the same things, but actually saw over 50 whales, one going right under the boat. Be well, stay safe and travel well. 🥾

I wish I had known you were wanting a lobster roll. I made one for Waffle Hikes last week in Gorham NH. You can buy a pound of cooked lobster for about $50 and that would make 3 8" sub rolls loaded. The puffins were cute for sure. My hometown of Eastport ME has a whale watching tour by my classmate where he sees many finback whales and humpback whales in the summer

It's great to see you and Kara together for more than just a few days. Hope you had a great time exploring. But first of all, $22 for lobster on a hot dog bun!? That's crazy. If you want to go to a place and eat something that is actually made, not caught, from what a state is known for, come to Wisconsin. We'll make you a fresh grilled cheese with 3 different Wisconsin cheeses, for $12, cheese curds, $6, mac and cheese, $10, a stinky $5, Limberger cheese sandwich from Baumguartners cheese store and tavern, the only place that makes Limberger any more in the US, is Wisconsin. You really have to be a cheese turophile or connoisseur to want to try it. But once you get past the smell, it's pretty good, on dark rye, onion's, and some people like hot mustand, I dont. Lol, sorry, I got carried away. Talking about Maine here, not Wisconsin. 😂 Kidding aside, it looks like a beautiful town. Those little puffins were so cute. Leo was looking adorable as usual ❤. I've always wanted to visit Maine. It's probably been since a book report I had to do in grade school. I hope you're having a wonderful time❤ ✌️🫶

Mike, I grew up in New England, here’s how a lobster roll is supposed to be. Buttered, toasted flat sided hot dog roll, shredded lobster, so more stays in the roll, and just a little bit of mayo.

I am sure you get lots of advice but Ocean Roll in Kennbunk is hands down the best lobster roll. And if you want clam chower, Chef Jacques in Wells. Both are side of the road stands and well worth it.

I visited this area many years ago. The memories are still strong. One, I couldn’t wait for Main Lobster. Turned out to be the worst ever. Okay but they just boil & give you drawn butter. Nothing like New Orleans or anywhere down south. I like my seasoning. That lobster roll looked great but I love cooked in buttery water w/ lots of flavors.

On your way south two place are worth the trip...1 browns restaurant in Salisbury, beach Massachusetts. Great lobster lb. Good fried seafood The other is Hodgies in Salisbury, ma. On your way back from browns. Get a kiddie cone from Hodgies Ice cream. It is a once in a lifetime experience. You will remember it! Best enjoy my old homestead NE.

After seeing you become accustomed to trail life, I just want to be sure you're ok with sleeping in an actual bed, in a climate controlled human dwelling, with code-compliant plumbing, adjoining a choice of restaurants and carryout options, with your life partner. Whenever the opulence overwhelms your enwildened sensibilities, remember you can always just go outside and find a bit of dirt and crushed rock and maybe even a tree root to sleep on. 😊 But seriously, doesn't it seem surreal? After just a week of bushwhacking in the Sangre de Cristos, I remember the Pizza Hut and Holiday Inn of Alamosa struck me as the pinnacle of human achievement, if not the most miraculous dispensation of Grace. Enjoy!

If your still in Maine I’d recommend going to Ogunquit, Maine. I hear the lobster rolls at Footbridge Lobster in Perkins Cove are delicious. 🦞😋 hope you’re having lots of fun! 😎
