Becca your sitting room is so beautiful!! I love the fireplace, it’s a perfect fit!! You made me cry abt the ornaments 😢..I’m a very sentimental person and I love to hear stories like that❤️!! I still put ornaments on our family tree that we have had for 34 years..we also have some from my husband’s childhood and one day I’ll have all of the ones from my childhood.. I still have my dad but my mom passed away 20 years ago, my dad told me that I can get the ornaments and use them bc he doesn’t put up a tree but it just doesn’t feel right to me to take them from my home place..I know I will eventually & I guess it would be nice for me to put them out for display again but it just doesn’t feel right to me😔.. I love how you used the broken ornaments & boxes for display, that was so sweet 🤗!! Thanks for sharing!! Hope you are having a wonderful week!!

Becca, you are so lucky to have those beautiful ornaments from your childhood. My mom didn’t save anything of that nature. I too love the shiny brite ornaments, and I’ve been able to find several boxes at HomeGoods in the last few years. I had no idea until I saw them there that they were bringing them back. I have a love for all things vintage, especially from the 40s 50s and 60s.😊

My tree like that I call it my memory tree. I do have one ornament that was mine when I was a little girl I got up from my mom several years ago. I don’t know that she has a whole lot of our old ornaments or I should say had we lost her two years ago on Mother’s Day. She loved nutcrackers and had quite the collection. My daughter asked me last year if we could go through them and I asked my dad and he said sure but we never got around to it so this year when my grandson came over and we put the lights on my dad‘s house, I live next-door. But I saw the tub with some of her nutcrackers in it and so I had him get it down and brought it over to my house and then I was looking and I said get this one down too. I think it’s got some in it as well. It did and so my daughter picked out ones that she wanted and my sisters, the one from Texas happen to be visiting so she got some and my sister that lives here got some and then we took him to my brothers when we were all there and his two daughters chose what they wanted and my sister-in-law said well I’ll just take the rest. I took one that I had given her. It’s one on a rocking horse. I got it when my oldest grandson was born so eventually it’ll be his. My younger grandson that was here picked out a couple that he liked. She had a fireman and then he played football when he was little and we were able to find a football one that had his number on it so he has that. Long story longer sorry. But she still has a lot of tubs up there that we have to go through at some point and I’m sure there’s more nutcrackers. My youngest brother lives in Washington, we’re in Nevada. And I got a hold of my sister-in-law there and I talked to her and she said she would love to have one so I got one set aside for them as well. Brings back lots of memories going through those. We decorated the tree for my dad, but he just wants the bulbs on it. He doesn’t wanna whole lot of extras. So that’s what we do what he wants. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I’m so late getting to watch these videos after finishing decorating and I had to jump right into my baking because the Sunday before Christmas, I always have a Christmas tea and Cocoa, the girls from my family all come, extended family and a cousin came. Of course, my hearts, my two grandsons always stop by. So now things are slowing down so I can get caught up. Have a fabulous new year. I hope it’s a great and healthy one for you.

Another beautifully decorated room. The vintage ornaments are precious, I am so happy you were able to find and use them. What a cute fireplace! Fits perfectly in the room. It's my opinion that white is never boring; you use it so well that it balances out with all the other beautiful colors. I simply love your style of decorating and all the cute items you find. Looking so forward to seeing your home tour on Friday and will be really sad when Christmas is over and will no longer see your beautiful home decorated. I love your stove! I have a real wood stove in my family room that I love. My parents put it in here in the 70's. My dad loved it. I think of him every time I light it which I don't get to do very much in Florida. I also love your vintage Christmas tree and the vintage feeling in this room. I have Shiny Brites from the 50's and 60's that were always on our trees. I remember every one of them when I put them on my vintage tree too. They're so colorful and beautiful. I love my modern Shiny Brites but there's nothing like the vintage ones. The diarama ornaments on your tree are just beautiful too. I also have the boxes and never thought of displaying them like you did...I love it! I look forward to your evening tour Becca!🎄
