As the "let's go Brandon " nut bag elitist mandate electrocution cars, the"old" iron might be just the thing to hold onto. My 28 year old "living room on wheels " launched me on the interstate @90 MPH and wasn't even floored or in high gear yet. Lots of mighty fine machinery going to waste. IDEA: Next time you get a load of pipe in, use it to make a frame 9" off ground. Then place a row of those box-truck boxes on it, line up a row of cinder blocks around it to keep skunks out from under. Each box could be dedicated to a theme: Used tires or rims, used batteries, gauges, 1950's tail lights, etc... Make a tiny town for shoppers.

Silas, I truly do try my best to stay positive and see it your side of things. I am dead seriously do try and then I see a fairly newish ford dually in the background, a tractor at the end that looks like a 8N and just here and there fairly good rigs. Out on the west coast, we have a bit of a problem for parts are hard to come by. Oh for I forget as you mentioned a square body being loaded out as a diesel and I see a dual exhaust under it so was it a dual exhaust diesel for which I haven't seen before or confusion as to which one was what. And then on that note, I just got me some female extraction sockets amazon and you walk up to those lugs that are locking or just messed up, this slides right over them and it grabs and they spin right off with the impact. And then finishing were I was going at first, there must be a plugged up market for used trucks back there. Out here if the frame is good and body is fixable, they sell for a minimum of two grand and they just don't set on lots more than say a week, most gone in a half day. Kids love the aluminum wheels so they sell good too, including some of the factory weird ones. I just hate to waste stuff but I know in my heart, I would be doing the same as you, smashing them. I ain't harping you, just wishing we didn't have to throw as much away as we do
@AdventuresMadeFromScratch3 жыл бұрын
We are just one of countless yards that do exactly what I do. There’s just no market for any of that stuff in farm country and shipping makes it too expensive to go anywhere else. I have an open invitation to anyone from out of state who wants to come load up a 53’ trailer with parts at Kansas prices to take home and sell for high dollar.
@morgansword3 жыл бұрын
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch Silas, I think I worded my whole comment wrong. First, we have chatted before and I do know what your up against. I also know people think that you run a charity or something and that ain't close to true. You are a healthy young man with a desire to take good care of your family and do things that your dad did. Here is just what I meant. In a perfect world, rust sure wouldn't be a problem but the facts are from a many a state back there, its high population and lots of rigs, with a lot of high rust. I applaud you for the wall hangers and getting parts to people as you don't need that for a decent income, its more a bi product of salvaging and saving history. I think that you have gone the extra mile to help people just to have it thrown back at you. I honestly believe that some people think its a weakness in others and try their best to just ruin it for others. I certainly don't want you mad at me as for thinking its free so help me or something like that. I just wish all people would treat others like they like to be treated. So if I have messed up, I apologize to you sir. I see things that we don't see much of here because the whole state being the largest in our union is less than a million people by almost three hundred thousand! Yep, not many people scattered around the many many towns and villages. Some kids near me by about forty miles have a channel that really shows how it is here in central alaska. Its called "Simple living alaska" and those two are really nice kids that are not lazy and really live alaska as it used to be. Its a fun channel to watch sometimes Silas and I really think that you and your family would enjoy a clean no cursing or vugar stuff channel that show fishing, hunting travel and stuff to make it here. I hope we are still friends distanced apart.
