I guess a lot of old timers are going to the great ranch in the sky, leaving all these amazing collections of tlmes-gone-by technology. Incredible to think how much work went into designing and building all that metal.

You found a lot of treasures. While you're out treasure hunting and at the auction. I think my favorite is that old steam locomotive train it's Rusty to beat heck. It was towards the end of this video and sitting in the back of your truck. Remind me a time and my dad was on strike for 22 weeks or something like that. Things got tight. He asked me if he could sell my train set. And I said yes. Is I'll buy you a brand new one. I didn't expect one anytime soon. But I went the old gauge G triple rail set. And when he came home he had brand new ho set and it had twice as many cars. We had a lot of fun with that. I remember the fun times we had with that old locomotive putting the stuff in the stack so puff as it went around. Thanks for the reminder that was so many years ago.

55:40 ,those scales ⚖️ are good for both yard art & for advertising, especially for anyone who buys or sells stuffs ,most of my scrapyard friends use these for advertising purposes that they buy scrap ... they don't use these ,but certified scales, but they do catch attention when people pass by ,that one looks in really good condition, most are gray ,black or white ,might be good to put infront of your salvage yard ... just bolt or chain it down

Okay, at a half minute in and for prospective since its been a very long time since I was in the lower forty eight.... miles apart is what I am seeing before another property owner lives. How can there be so many rigs in a area that has few people in it. You are showing some toys at timestamp 28:00 and show the rig with the hood gone. a tinsmith can make a reproduction of it in about ten or more minutes. I say that cause that is how long it would take me in a half junky old shop with some tin snips, strap tin that is rusty already plus a ball pein hammer. Bing bang and there you go.. I do believe you would have fun Silas doing stuff like this. You can find any old heavy metal table that has different shapes on the sides to hammer against right in your little camping bus... out of the rain for a few minutes and just start shaping metal. You would learn how to shrink or stretch metal and have a ton of fun. You mentioned that you should not of bought so much and I understand if its going to make you money, its why you go. But bidding so high that no one can go above you seems a bit selfish... just me talking when you are complaining I AM SO DANG BUSY, I just have no time left..... go ahead and make money... its not going to affect my watching or other. I seen a complete vice like the one you were showing in a small body shop many years ago.... it was around fifty dollars is what that fellow told me and he got it out of a magazine sale... like people magazine or time magazine.

Anvils depend on the name and quality of metal they're mad of but if you don't know beforehand what they're worth if you can get them for 50 cents a lb you can at least double your money dad says the cheap ones sell for a buck an lb he was offered 3k for his someone saw through the shop window he pointed to the forge in the corner and all his buckets of tooling and told him when he couldn't use it anymore I get it as a package deal I move it all out of his shop to mine and he doesn't have to lift anything and it's mine good thing I have 3 brothers and 4 sons without metal in their spines willing to let me be the driver and interior decorator when we get to my (originally a 6 car garage attached to the barn not the house with a kickout for the 8N Ford and bobcat) shop and I can get my trailer and bobcat too it I can't get the bobcat in dad's shop we're hoping with fork extentions and narrowed forks we can slide them close enough to pick everything up with the bobcat dad's hobby shop was a chicken coop when he was a kid the lathe will be the hard 1 to get out over the years shelves got built around itim hoping by that time he let's the building go down and with the roof and wood front out we can build a ramp and clear out everything and bring it out after getting the bridge plank shelving and workbench and bring it all back to my shop and dad'll have a job for his D4 push it up breaking the clay brick and thin concrete floor to load on the dump trailer and haul it to under a tile drain and fill the ditch up

You stole those scales Silas. Toledo lollipop scales usually bring decent money in working condition like yours is in. If you look on the sides of the base, there are holes that are meant for wheels to be put under it. I have a set like yours, only with the taller scale pedestal, but mine were in much worse condition and cost way more than 10 bucks. I completely restored mine and they were re-certified for use. I would hate to see you crush them because a working scale like that is getting hard to find and certainly worth more than 10 bucks in usable condition. Did you bid on the Wilton bullet vise on the trailer? Those usually go for decent money depending on what model they are and the age. Some really cool stuff at this auction! I'll have to check your other channel out.
@AdventuresMadeFromScratch13 сағат бұрын
I didn’t film most of the vices and anvils because I was talking to a subscriber. A lot of people come to this sale to meet me now 😆 As for the scale, I listed it for $100 about a month ago and haven’t had any interest. Crusher won’t be back at my yard for a few months tho, so maybe it gets saved yet.

How is the auction company keeping inventory on these items? There doesn't seem to be any tags or other ids added to the items unless well hidden. Each time you go to one of these consignment auctions it just makes me wonder how they are documenting all the sales and making sure they get paid and also can pay the consignors properly.
@AdventuresMadeFromScratch13 сағат бұрын
Different lot numbers. Most of these trailers were all the same lot number for the whole trailer. The rows have t posts separating lot numbers. If you watch some of my other consignment videos, sometimes you’ll see yellow caution tape on the trailers which separates the lots as well. They’re very organized and have been doing it for many years now.
