THANK YOU, A+K, for your commentary (15:43) about the importance of trying local culture and cuisine rather than turning up our noses at something that might be a bit out of our comfort zone. Tried cuy while visiting back in 2012. Also, eating with your hands is GREAT!

We were in Peru about 6 years ago and enjoyed it very much. Cusco was great. I cannot emphasize enough how well those big stones (some larger than a full size SUV) fit together. There literally is no space in between stones, and like A+K said, you can't even slip a piece of paper between. The salt pans at Maras were awesome, and Machu Picchu was the absolute best.
@AdventuresofAplusK11 күн бұрын
The stonework by the Inca is pretty mind blowing! Maras will be in our next video with some other stops in the Sacred Valley and a Machu Picchu video is coming soon as well

This is my favorite episode you've ever made. I've wanted to go to Peru for a long time and I'm so glad I got to see Cisco through your eyes. Also, I'm homeschooling my 5th grade grandson and Maya, Aztec and Inca cultures are in his curriculum so I got to show him this video to bring what he's studying to life. Looking forward to Machu Pichu!!

Yes we were. The weather is always a gamble, especially in a shoulder month. Nothing seemed super crowded either. If we went again, we'd go right after the rainy season (May) so things would be more green

We try not to turn up our noses at different foods, but cuy was one thing we could not bring ourselves to try as we have had several pet guinea pigs over the years.
@mayklercito12 күн бұрын

Do you have problems with gluten when eating in foreign countries. My wife was diagnosed with ms and she controls it through diet which means no gluten
@AdventuresofAplusK11 күн бұрын
Apparently the wheat used is different in other countries. So Kathryn doesn't have as many issues. It's also been several years since she's had a sensitivity test and we're not 100% sure it's gluten that is the culprit anyway
@glennscotti889111 күн бұрын
@ my wife was diagnosed with MS back in 08 and went on the anti inflammatory diet which included gluten. She is on no medications for ms and the biggest difference came after she gave up gluten so we avoid it like the plague.

Awesome video! Cusco is the most fansitating and mysterious city. Adam did an excellent job with the pronunciation of Sacsayhuaman, that’s not easy. The catacombs were very creepy under that church as well as in Lima. The high altitude does get to you and it seemed like everyone had oxygen tanks around. My wife did get altitude sickness and we had to go to a hospital for treatment and they only charged us $12. But I did one better on the way there. I tried one of the liquid yogurts (it was lucuma) before we went on the plane and as I boarded the plane I got really, really sick. One of the flight attendants noticed me and notified the pilot who stopped the plane right on the tarmac so I could get off to a waiting ambulance. There was a Dr. there who spoke English and gave me this little brown pill and with just a couple of hours I was completely fine. We were able to resume the same flight the next day with NO yogart beforehand. I do want to go back to Cusco again someday!
