This kit I assembled is compact enough to carry all the time : Belt Pack or Fanny Pack Survival Kit : Zip-Loc bag as waterproof liner Bic lighter wrapped with Gorilla tape, rubber band,twist tie, wire, relectve orange paracord and tab blocked to prevent leakage. Match book from MRE ( water resistant) Fresnel lens Button compass Whistle (loud flat one from Tops Knives) Toothpick Diaper pin Sabre saw blade Hacksaw blade piece Razor blade ( single edge) Needle P-38 can opener * *( sharp items taped onto a card with clear packaging tape ) Photon Micro Lite flashlight Zip tie Pencil stub and paper Trail marking clip tab Clif bar snack Condom as emergency canteen (unlubricated) Coffee filter Large Bandaid and small Bandaid Alcohol prep pad Benedryl pills (3) Imodium A-D (2) Q-Tip Aluminum foil ( folded) for bowl making, cooking, signeling Chemical hand warmer Moleskin Rubber square from inner tube with cuts as fire starter Sandpaper Square 400 Grit for knife sharpening Dental floss roll ( unwaxed and removed from housing) Mylar space blanket with ranger band around it Rain emergency poncho NOTE : Many items are useful as tinder and otherwise multi-purpose. Weight under 1.5 pounds. This kit will be attached to you even if you aren't carrying a backpack or lose your pack. It is portable enough to obviate the need for an Altoids tin kit or other inadequate gimmicky survival kit.

I personally had a kit very much like that with me on my job except I had a tarp instead of a tent. You can just roll yourself up in the tarp and go gray man as you’d likely be mistaken as just another homeless guy. A tent takes time to set up and space, plus if it’s new it’ll attract attention. Get a brown or gray tarp and lay down in the weeds etc and you’ll be easy to miss.

Make your own kit. Include a head lamp, a lawn trash bag, small bar of soap, insecticide wipes and a butane lighter. The one thing to keep in mind is that the people that would buy this (other than testing) are people with limited outdoor skills. Those of us with real bushcrafting skill may look at this kit and laugh, but those without will look at it with awe and be happy with it. To me, it's a decent buy to get kids started with it. Then teach them what to do better in the kit. Like tossing that credit card thing and drop a Leatherman in. Or simply to make sure to have batteries in your pocket, lol. No pre-packed kit will be perfect. Don't care who makes it, or how much it costs. There will be items in it that are redundant, unneeded, or just WTF is this in here. The difference is that bigger, more expensive kits, will have more stuff. That's it. If you really want a decent kit, you need to build it up yourself.
@AdventureswithSpackmann
@AdventureswithSpackmann 9 ай бұрын
Agree it’s nice for a kid. My kids will have fun “playing” with it. But I think it’s still funny cause you know the people who buy it are gunna throw it somewhere and if they ever need it, it won’t help as much as they need. Thanks for watching

Eh... For $30 im not too mad at it. Working fire starter, some tinder, two knives, a few whistles, and the case will cost you that anyway. Not horrible for a base to add things into. Definitely needs a emergency blanket. I would probably toss in some isopure, a backpacking tarp, some food, and swap that shovel for a decent trowel. My guess is this was a way for them to get rid of some old products that weren't selling well.

I got one because I wanted the Velcro release bag - it’s got the Molle and a Velcro tear away so I can rip it off the back of my car seat tac back thing. It was on discount when I got it only because the SKU packaging was gone. Sticker had it at $19. Got it. Refilled it with not crap. The Velcro is not awesome so there’s that. Thanks man, I like your channel, your sense of humor, your attitude.

I could have saved you time and money. This kit is an unwise use of money. If your life might hinge on the quality of your kit, you're better off using the money to build a kit, piece by piece. Purchase quality products that will work when you're life depends on it.

I drove commercial truck locally for years. I was often in bad parts of town. I had to leave my “Get Home Bag” in the truck when I went inside to give them my paperwork etc. I therefore had cheap gear in the bag like this kit sold at Walmart. My pew pew was a Taurus G2C. If someone broke in my truck while I was inside and stole my bag and weapon (many warehouses I went to had metal detectors and a no weapons policy) it would ruin my day but not my year. There’s advantages to cheap gear sometimes and my situation proved that. It’s good enough to get the job done (protect and help save you) until you can get to your more quality gear.

I took that same KIT after I put it together as a US Army Airborne Ranger into the back woods of Nova Scotia and stayed there for months. I used that same KIT to render aid to a person I found that was hurt while hiking and then fashioned a small canoe out of a tree that I cut down with the saw/shovel and made my way to Greenland. That KIT is all a real survivalist needs! Everything is what you make it!

I would keep one in my car. it might be small enough to fit inside the wheel well of my spare tire. It may not a "good 'survival kit, but imagine breaking down on a back road in the winter, or having a way to help someone get from "where they are", to safety. If you want a top class unit, buy a kit for a 5 to 10 person commercial shop, and BTW, take a first aid course or two.
