Still figuring out how exactly to mix 5E with Mythic but I'm having fun! Let me know if you enjoy the radioplay vibe (with voices and sound effects)!

The beauty of your intro is that it sets listeners up for a theatre of the mind experience.

@@liamtaylor4955 Thanks! I did it on a whim, and now I've used it in every episode. I like a little old-school radio-drama feel now and then.

Just started watching this to get some inspiration for my own solo campaign, and it was super fun to watch! The presentation was very good, with all the sounds and the way you explained what you were doing. I'll definitely watch the series!

On my sessions my table is really messy with so much paper all over the place and you have a simple setup and do so much with it. It is impressive.

🙇‍♂️I’m humbled, thank you! I have a monitor with the rules pulled up and now the dice tray really helps (it’s a $5 shadow box, btw - one of my fav hacks)

I haven't finished yet (I'm supposed to be working), great job! One question, shouldn't the first die roll have been for the event focus? The beauty of Mythic GME2 is that you can still create a scene just fine.

A worker lurker - thanks for stopping by! Really good question: I gloss over it around the 4:50 mark but for your very first scene, Mythic 2E gives you the option of rolling on the elements tables to generate who / what / where / why. You certainly could roll an event focus. I chose this alternative method since I didn't have any threads or NPCs (I wanted to make as much procedurally generated through play as possible). If you have the book, all of this starts on page 63 (the 4W rule is on page 65). Thanks again for the great comment and keep lurking!

Great stuff. Never fails when im solo gaming for the odds to be horribly against me. Last game i played using a Fallout RPG ruleset, the enemies hit crits every single roll. All nine dice rolls where crits... Its like the game doesn't want me ro play it sometimes.

In these types of games, how do you know when to use the rules of the game vs. using Mythic in non-combat situations?
@ckrysl7
@ckrysl7 Жыл бұрын
Not OP but I've used Mythic a couple of times for solo play. My answer is you just use you're own discretion but typically if would you call for them to make a roll in a situation you'd use the non-Mythic system rules.

You know mythic can run this entire home brew world of yours without the need for 5e you really ought to try it out

How do you handle combat and leveling up your character then?
@TheBoneBrew
@TheBoneBrew Жыл бұрын
@@dragonchr15 I have a very freeform Stat-less Game. I ask fate questions and use the Fate check to confirm level up things. Its funny you mention this because I just hit a level up during last pay through

@@TheBoneBrew i see...interesting.... How does the level up translate to improve chances of success with mythic? Do you make the odds likely or certain? Tweak the numbers to increase the chances of a yes?
@TheBoneBrew
@TheBoneBrew Жыл бұрын
Yeah with Mythic I don't make any changes to success thresholds or add anything to my character that directly effects the odds. I like to think of any bonuses I get as mostly circumstantial bonuses. So even abilities that do affect odds have specific conditions

@@TheBoneBrew I would love more details if you are willing...like how a 2nd level character has improvements over a 1st level....
