RIP #DMX My Podcast is "THE RIGHT SHOW w/ K-von" anchor.fm/KvonComedy This should go viral if people reallllly want to solve problems. I’ve been watching you for a while, and this is so creative! I loved the way you pieced this together. I’m Mestizo, and I’m very mixed with a lot of cultures. I was raised by my mestizo grandmother, my mother and my stepfather (who was raised in a very abusive and racist household) along with my half-brothers and half-sister. Both my parents escaped their home/life situations by joining the marine corps and I was raised in a very strict house. I was always being pushed to be better in any avenue I chose. And my family always stood by my side with my decisions, continuing to push me to keep going. My step-father CHOSE to be the person he is and has been throughout my life regardless of his upbringing. He always told me that it’s up to me to be who I want to be. No one else will help me if I won’t push myself. I’m still pushing myself and he’s still there even if my biological father wants nothing to do with me. I am very comedic in nature and usually brush negative things off and make a joke afterwards. It’s just who I am. So I enjoy watching these videos. This one is right on the mark!

As a black woman I totally agree with this. I have been in situations in my life when I needed help and the majority of the people who helped me were white. I cannot stand when people try to divide us. I wish more people would understand what is going on in this country. There will always be people who hate you because of the color of your skin, your religion etc. but making it seem as though that is the rule instead of the exception is what pisses me off. I'm not a writer but I hope that makes sense.

Thank you for saying this. I wish I could copy it on this other thread where apparently I am not allowed to talk about race because I am white. This black woman on there made a comment about the Sharon Osborn controversy and said something about there is that "white woman guilt tactic". I made a comment explaining my situation with a best friend of mine who is a black woman. After 20 years we are no longer friends because she will not stop drinking. When she is drunk she will become belligerent and violent and i can't stand to be around her. I have helped her so much that it has drained me so I'm done. Told her I'm done. Well I told this story to use as an example that white people aren't the only ones who use guilt tactics to get what they want because she has done it to me more times than I could count. I also mentioned that I have grown up around black people and have helped many of them out when they needed it. Just like I have white people and any other race who needed help that I knew about if I could. Well of course so many people commented (from what I gather most if not all of these comments were by black women) and made it seem like I was wrong for helping black women at all! For some reason they said that made me feel as though I was their "massa". I'm like wtf? So now white people can't help black people without something being wrong with that? And apparently black women who allow white people to help them are self hating they said on this thread. I just can't with some people. It doesn't make any sense! Sigh

I think Morgan Freeman saying "don't talk about it" should be taken way more seriously. As a child, difference of race meant, nothing, I didn't know what race meant. I was only aware of the problem when it was brought up to me. I remember being so confused why it was even a thing when my parents tried to explain to me this strange problem. We should all have the minds of a child, we dont say "they are white, they may be racist" or "they are black, they may be suffering", we simply just see a human being. A child doesn't have a problem with race because it is of no concern.

@@waltersmith3267 well first of all I said not talk about it, not forget. But the statement is a little exaggerated, while we should of course honor and respect the past people who went through suffering like slavery and 9/11, the problem with racism is different though, because people spend so much of their valuable time thinking that the past affects them so much, and they have no gratitude that they are living in better times. Obviously it would be rude to forget about the suffering of slavery, but to say racism is still as much of a problem as they say it is, is downright false.

I, too, am from a Middle Eastern background and this episode stirs a lot of emotions in my heart. It was hard to spend two years doing my MA at a US renowned seminary that focused primarily on “race”, “supremacy” and “color”. I thought that to attend a seminary, I would hear more about “love”, “grace” and “peace”. As an outsider, I could tell there was something terribly wrong happening. One day in a naive tone I asked in class, “do white people have feelings too? Why are they denied here the chance to express themselves”? I could sense that my white professor teared up and couldn’t speak. My black friend from Ghana told me that she was getting tired and fed up with all of that. She said that she never cared about color back in her country and wondered why all those Americans were obsessed about it. That made her feel uncomfortable and was degrading to her. What made things even worse was that when attending a spiritual gathering at one of the biggest US denominations’ annual conference, we were asked to get up and confess before God that we had “killed”, “betrayed”, “shed blood” of the innocent!! Mostly whites were doing that in perplexing self-hatred and confusing sense of guilt. I wanted to shake each one of them and ask when did you do that or have you really? As for me, I am not going to repent for Ramses II or Akhenaton’s sins although they are my ancestors. That would be extremely weird, right? In my country, (apart from politics and politicians), Americans built hospitals and schools and served selflessly. They advocated for the rights of girls and women to get good education. Until this day women who graduate from old American schools hold the best positions with high ethical standards and commitment to excellence. I will forever be indebted to those who taught me this life-long mantra, “Enter ye to learn, leave ye to serve”!

Oh, people are going to hate me but, this is the real truth, as far as I'm concerned, about 'racism'. I grew up both dirt poor and with all black people in my neighborhood except for my family. I've fought for MLK day by not going to school with my black friends, neighbors, and co-students. I survived childhood, in part, by being fed breakfast by the Black Panthers. Decades later I've seen so much on the issue of racism and paid close attention because I grew up with the issue being talked about all around me. I agreed with it all because of my own experiences--my experiences as 'poor white trash' were not very different. I find that this video tells the truth that WE ALL need to hear. As a white person I don't think many will hear me out but black people, if they want to beat poverty, prison, shitty neighborhoods, etc etc, I think they need to see this and think it out. As a poor white person I've dealt with barriers to getting ahead and getting my needs met. I've been hassled by the police, dealt with landlords not wanting to rent to me or employers not wanting to give me a chance, barriers to college so high I had to get in thru the backdoor then running out of financial opportunities to continue while only halfway through my four years. The list of difficulties in trying to make a better life affect all poor people. Black people are being handed an excuse to fail, being programmed just as low-income people in the south are being programmed to believe the far right's bullshit. It's all shit we're being told to believe for the benefit of politicians and the 1%. It's time we ALL stop hating, stop believing the bullshit, and get it together and fight the war on poverty and tear down the walls that block opportunity for all poor people, whatever the tone of our skin is.

From my perspective as a black kid growing up in a white city I believe it is simple there are good people who encourage, lift up, and love. Then those who look for excuses to tear down, make fun, and hurt others. Racism is a belief that leads people to treat others badly. However, there are hundreds of excuses to treat others badly and racism is just one. It all boils down to how you treat others and that has everything to do with who you are rather than who they are.

Division is very decisive, but you have to understand division isn't necessarily evil. It's the human heart that's the issue. You need to separate the people that do evil from the people that don't. So although some of the things that mention aren't necessarily dividing us. It's how perverse mankind is and how far we are willing to go to gratify our own desires. The heart is the issue.

Indeed. If only all those conscientious fools would realise, ethical principles need to be unified, one size fits all, or they're laughable... And that the power of those principles starts and ends with our own conduct... people have been persuaded that ethics are something you try to force on those who disagree with you today, it seems... Over my life thus far, I've never experienced anyone so destructive as those who believe they have that ethical prerogative over others. ...Truly frightening what apparently peace loving people will collude in when those cards get played.

I don't think that's entirely true, but it's an interesting point. People are always gonna have differences that seperate them, even biologically so i have to disagree. But when it comes to what U pointed out, religion yeah religion does alot. But that's what freedom is all about choice. So I like that there's a division it's a good thing. The problem is ego and when 2 beliefs can't co-exist. It's people being black n white and not meeting in the grey half way that causes a divide. A divide of hate.

The problem with racists is that they need to see you suffer. If you don't suffer or in fact improve over time, they have lost the argument already. Yes, there is racism but you're either a victim wallowing in your circumstance or you over come it and hold the high ground. Before someone asks, I have been a target of racism but I still hold my head high because, if you prove them right, you have confirmed their suspicions but if you change their mind because you aren't what they say you are...that's something no law can do and its a beautiful sight.

The wisdom in this video made me tear up; thank you so much for creating and sharing this! Absolutely love the human emotions, so beautifully explained. We are all people, we all struggle and we all don't want to relive traumatic experiences, yet somehow, we are encouraged by the system to do so, repeatedly. The ignorant people are often loud and talk a lot, so sadly, they get heard more. Imagine reliving a breakup every single day (feeling like a victim); it will not let you heal and will prevent you from experiencing the wonderful things life has to offer. There are no victims, there are fighters, heroes, inspirations, legends. The state of mind is not just a concept. What you believe or are made to believe is what you become.

@@teeleetreasures5570 Elite and rich people were not the ones making Jesus as them, where ever you find a religion the people in question will make the person to look as them. When Egyptians made images of theor gods they looked like them, same as Hinduism. Its a human trait not a elitist trait, people will always make the religious icon resemble where its made. Now Im talking about deities in general, sure when European colonizers spread *their* version of Jesus it became another matter, Jesus in Africa should be black just as Jesus in Europe should be white. People generally don't want to see Jesus as he "really was" but more as they want it. With that it's bad that colonised people were given the image that the son of god is a white man, completely goes against Christian teachings and is factually wrong, but again, everyone make religious people to resemble themselves.

I grew up playing soccer in a place called Brampton Ontario in Canada. I was basically the only white player on the team. My teammates were all Jamaican, African, and Middle Eastern. I have never received the same love, kindness, acceptance, and appreciation playing on that team anywhere else. Being around their culture taught me so much about life and helped shaped my character. I truly believe that racism only exist if people are not educated to tell the difference between right and wrong. And it pains me to know that people are categorizing all whites people as “racist” because they are white.

Simplistic thinking. Have you ever delved into all socioeconomic causes, who holds the power in this US, do all blacks possess the same inner strength? Walk in the individual's shoe and not lump him/her in the same bunch. This topic is so deep. What's the etiology of each man's problem? So many pretending to be an expert on what they don't know. Its also bullshit. What he did was tell SOME truth then mixed it with lies then sang the lullaby to you for that breath of fresh air. The lies are "racism doesn't exist," "no one is being lynched today," "America isn't a racist country." I pretty much agree with (ALMOST) the rest. My next door neighbor hates me and my family because of my race. What is that? A wht dentist physically assaulted me because I refused to give him clearance when he said "excuse me n!993r". That's racist and the fact that there's a party who think that we're all so stupid we can't get IDs, can't get to DMV for said ID among other things, that's ingrained. AMERICA was actually BUILT on "anti-blk" slavery. That said, this bs excuse "the man holding me down" but when I graduated college (a blk woman) most of my colleague's who graduated with me was NOT blk, that is their own fault. The truth would be While racism is real and while racism exist, blk people ALSO oppress themselves and have a hand in our own failures. It's both, no better yet, racism isn't a reason anymore for blk failure. THAT I agree with.

I wish I could go to every school board meeting, speak with every politician, and get their exact statement on American news about our educations system. M.Kaku has a great video about what is wrong with our schools. But in a nutshell, we have found a way to make school a painful, boring process while focusing on standardized testing and social electives. Half this stuff should be a conversation in the home. But at school, they should be learning English, history, civics, and STEM classes. No political comment or SJW nonsense. Just facts. And make it fun to learn.

@@yahudahel7205 "false equivalency", look it up. A physical action is not equivalent to an idea or thought process. The reason racism is so "prevalent" now, is not because it actually is, it's because people talk about it so much they see it in everything. That is the point he's making. True racism can never be completely wiped out because people are always going to be people, but true racist acts have been on the decline since the 60's and are practically non-existent now. And the only form of "systemic" racism still around is actually affirmative action, which is racist but not in the way that fits the left's narrative.

@Fern Blitz I am well aware of the bigotry and racism in this world especially the United States been hear my whole life barring the occasional deployment overseas. What I’ve seen from my child hood and as an adult isn’t the same as what my father grew up in. It ain’t the same as what my grandpa grew up in. It’s gotten a lot better and as a logical person we should praise that progress and continue to work on it. Just because I haven’t experienced it first hand doesn’t mean it didn’t happen and that applies to all people. The gentleman may be speaking the entire truth that he never dealt with it so he wouldn’t see the problem. I say all this to say we made progress but ranting and raving don’t fix legislation. Voting does. So keep it civil, voice your opinion but don’t try and shut some one up without actually listening to them. It’s counter productive. And it just alienates another potential ally. Mlk didn’t march with only African americans. It took a united front and strong legislature to fix what they could.
