Great discussion and comments by Russell Napier. He is sharp and amusing to boot. Story about the Caribbean CBDC had me laughing! This is the second time for me listening to this. This seem to be progressing "well" as of June 2024.

This was brilliant! Thank you guys. Btw copper mines and gold mines are often the same mine - Cu / Au often occur together and when the Cu grade is high enough they get mined together.. so.. not so bad for gold after all as the copper needs to be mined for the green revolution! 👍🏼😅

Wrong, copper primarily comes from Chile that has very little gold.

Miners are the most ESG focused actors in the Western world. Their "S & G" efforts (ESG) far exceed most industries, and their substantial "E" improvements were required for their continuing existence. New or RE-newed gold mines (restarts with modern tools and technology) are highly focused on CO2 reduction, and the largest "gold mines" currently under development in the world are copper-gold mines. Russel's third point is a positive for gold too (ESG compliant), not a detractor. Similar dynamics will work in uranium's favor too.

@@valdomero738 Wrong.... Chile produces about 23% of the world's supply and it is slowly falling.

How does anyone believe any number or statistic provided by agencies who have direct interest in the specific numbers being reported?… in regards to “inflation expectations” specifically. Why are these numbers believed without skepticism when the groups reporting the number want to see lower numbers? What economist looks at these datasets and believes any of it? How do you use data provided by another external group that has proven themselves to be unreliable?

At least he had the decency to look shifty when he lumped Bitcoin in with private sector crypto.
