I love podcasts with her! Since I'm not a Hindi speaker, I'm so glad that most of the interview is in English! Sometimes, out of the blue, they switch to Hindi and then of course I get lost, but I think overall, I was able to catch most of it. DON'T STAY MARRIED TO SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T LOVE YOU OR RESPECT YOU! DONT STAY MARRIED TO SOMEONE YOU DON'T LOVE!!!

One thing is fact in general that people are not as patient with each other compared to older times. Even with colleagues, neighbors, or just general encounters with people , we are being less patient. So true that we want things instant and that’s making our patience level gradually lower.
@mayak2676Ай бұрын
Guys were rarely patient, even back then. Women were financial dependant so they kept quite & compromises. Now women are financially independent so they don't take nonsense anymore...that's the biggest change

@30.00 Vandana talks of parents wanting son-daughter -in-law to stay separately. She says she was surprised to hear this. I am absolutely shocked, why this is not a default conversation in the families. Every marriage must definitely start with the couple moving out and starting their married life, on their own. If there are financial issues, parents should help on getting a rented place. Or if they can, instead of waiting until their death to pass on wealth to your children, do whatever possible, to help the couple to get independent housing.

I’m a happy unmarried girl yet loved watching this podcast. Found it very interesting 😀 It took me 4-5 days to finish watching this long episode 😂 I specifically came here to appreciate this beautiful soul saying that you SHOULD get married (not for the society or anything) but to experience all emotions of life 💞👌 Vandana ji 🫶🏻 Deepak, you’re a fabulous podcaster, wish to see you grow even more! ❤ Only little suggestion to you is to let the other person finish talking & then ask your question. As a viewer I felt there were too many interruptions.

things discussed in this podcast are subjective we can't apply same solution or action in every situation. People willing to sacrifice, make adjustments n fulfil their own duties/responsibilities will never suffer. Marriage is a journey just like your life so there will be ups n downs but that. does not mean you commit suicide or file for divorce. if you are marrying under any pressure you are gonna mess up two families at the same time especially kids.

First stop the practice of forcing girls to live with guys parents...why should guys enjoy this cushioning. It should be a neutral ground for both. No guy will be ready to live with their inlaws, so why should girls be forced to put up with inlaws. Big part of marital issues will disappear if this absurd practice (under the pretext of culture, which is basically part of patriarchy) is stopped. Stay separate and be there for both parents whenever they need
@user2j3ycg4dfАй бұрын
Why should girls look for a higher -status husband? Why do girls' families want a guy from a good family (own house, well-off)? It goes both ways. I have worked for 25+ yrs now, but I can't think of taking a break. I have to continue till I can manage to work physically. BTW, it's a glorious time to be a woman and work in a corporate org. Sexism is rampant when you are a man. It's unpopular but closer to reality.

@@abrardalal I already have been practicing for many years. I was always very clear i wouldn't stay with inlaws & i wouldn't marry anyone who didn't respect that. I have a very respectful relationship with my inlaws till date, because there's never been any unnecessary interference. Marriage is about mutual respect & understanding. If any one partner stops being respectful & understanding it won't last long
@mayak2676Ай бұрын
@@user2j3ycg4df When we married my husband had a devent job, but no such backing. I too was working. I was very clear i wanted someone with a educated & humble background ...just be respectful & understanding & who wont expect me to live with his family. We both have worked our way through life independently & build for ourselves. We share a respectful relationship with both parents till date. Unfortunately most Indian marriages get unnecessarily messy because of inlaws interference (from both sides). Couples should clearly sort out this situation before marriage & post marriage make conscious efforts in not allowing any third person to interfere in their marriage

I don't think middle class families discuss this much True to the fact, adjustment, compromise are important in a marriage. Divorce is a bigger thing than marriage. Not many of us are in good terms with parents, but divorce is possible only with partner. It's all about commitment, responsibility unless the divorce is really necessary. Tolerance should be a part of upbringing. This is the lack of upbringing, where life skills and living traits are missing in a child. A happy marriage does involve sacrifice, compromise, adjustment, responsibility, trust, loyalty.
