I used to live to watch this show I'm such a cowgirl on The ground road horses on my life when I found this show and then protecting the wales I was like it opened up a new door for me. I'm so much a humanitarian and I would say to any animal on the planet no matter what it is I just rescued a beagle the other day that it has 10 teeth messing he's so old and somebody dumped him off and he's so skinny. Now for the rest of his old days he has it forever home with me. Unfortunately the "research" license is a real one. That being said Japan has left the IWC (International Whaling Committee) and only operates under Japan's license, meaning that any whaling MUST be done in Japanese territorial waters and the Japanese Exclusive Economic Zone. I am just saying that there is no benefit to this type of "research" and that Japan has constantly fought with the IWC to get limited scale whaling internationally approved again.

Andy is a good man and treated as Samurai on Japanese ship. A few days later he handed his concealed knife to Japanese crew. Since Samurai has a privilege to carry a sword for his honor., he was kindly treated. I think the leaders of Shepard should be ashamed. Andy come to Japan and returned safe and no punishment. Sheppard should compensate his lost high speed expensive boat.

@@MikoooCW Up until June 2019 Japan was a member of the IWC, and they continued to use their "research" license until it expired. After that Japan has dropped the "research" pretense and now pursues commercial whaling. This restricts them to only having ships in their own waters (up to 12 miles from shore) and their Exclusive Economic Zone (200 miles from shore). As they are not beholden to the international treaties on whaling anymore, it isn't illegal there...but I wouldn't put it past them to keep trying to sneak into Antarctica
