The sample coffee packet that comes with the sealpod is just to show you the grind recommended, it’s not to use!
@bobmerle12 жыл бұрын
The sample coffee that you referenced from the previous video, which you stated you did not like. Says on the envelope, "Ground coffee sample for gring (grind) reference only, not for drinking." The sample is meant to give a starting point for the fineness of the grind and the amount of coffee to use.
@gmask114 жыл бұрын
Dang, I'd probably forget it was in the bin and chuck it out with the other used capsules! That whole coarse/fine grind, tamping, etc is one of those things that capsule machines completely simplify. I've been experimenting with the nanopresso and finding that it's a learning curve for each type of coffee you buy. I'm not sure if I'm up for doing that every time I want a coffee, but the difference in weight of coffee and the freshness intrigues me.
@A2BProductions4 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s a good point about forgetting it’s in the used drawer as could happen, unless you’re using only this I guess. Like you I’m intrigued by the idea of fresh beans but it’s intrigue vs the hassle of (as you say) finding the right grind for each bean etc and the extra cleaning with the machines. Nanopresso has popped up a few times in the comments so will have a look and see what it is 👍🏼

I have been using a Geesta product with my Breville VertuoLine Nespresso. You reuse the Vertuo pods. You just fill the pod with the coffee of your choice, tamp it down, put the foil on top and make sure the adhesive has a good seal on the top of the pod. As you said, getting a very fine grind is important. Then play around with the amount of coffee you put in the pod. My experience is the pod needs to be filled enough so it is packed in tightly. My main coffee I like is Caribou Coffee Mocha Java. I was surprised at how well it works and the quality of the results of using my own bootlegged Vertuo pods. I have about 6 pods of each size I do mark the bottom of the pod the size like E, EE, L5, R and BIG. If I start using different coffees I will need to adapt my code system and dedicate some pods for the new coffee. NOTE: If you don’t like grounds in your coffee make sure you get the foil on properly. The trick is you have to make sure stray grounds get on the lip of the pod. If you get a kit like mine a little brush cane with it as the tool you use to brush off the lip and turn the brushed pointed up you use the top of the brush to secure the foil to the lip.

Great info as usual Duaine 👍🏼 Thanks for that and will take a look at those pods. Not sure I’ll be able to get that exact blend of coffee over here but you never know.

Good demo. I got these delivered this week and have been disappointed to date. I am using the DeLonghi Lattissima touch machine and got a grind delivered by a local café that ground it so it was suitable for reusable pods. I've tried tamping firmly, not firmly and different cup sizes and all seem to be pouring very weak coffees. The flow isn't as smooth as the regular Starbucks pods that I use; sometimes, only drops of coffee are poured. I hope that descaling the machine might help with the flow issues.
@A2BProductions4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your experience Matthew. It's not the easiest thing to get right is it. Suppose if you're able to get find the perfect grind and method, though, then could save some money. Might have to unpack them and give it another go myself.

Something I read was to open a Nespresso pod to measure how much they use and the type of grind

Hey, I love your channel! You’ve made it so easy to pick my nespresso vertuo plus machine, I was a bit confused at first, so thank you. One question tho... is there a way to dispense only hot water from a vertuo? My husband drinks tea so it would be perfect if there was a way to get hot water somehow... perhaps from a reusable pod... or maybe reusing an empty vertuo pod? Keep the videos coming xx
@A2BProductions4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that, glad the videos helped. My initial reaction would have been to say no but I'm not sure now you mention the reusable pods, I'll have a look into it again. One way might be to put it into descaling mode obviously without the solution - we have a video on the channel showing how to do that but you basically tap the button on top 3 times in rapid succession with no pods in and then tap it again to stop the process, it might take a few tries to get the knack of it. The water that comes out for the first few seconds will be a bit nasty though, as will have coffee particles in, but might work for you if you discard the first bit of water. My only worry is that doing that too often might not be great for the machine but just doing it occasionally might work. I only thought to mention this as a subscriber said a few weeks back that he does this from time to time just to clean his Vertuo machine out with hot water between descaling.

Hello! Thank you for all your video's. Yesterday I got my Espresso machine Essenza Mini D30, the same one you are showing in your video. I am looking for a stainless steel capsule with a stainless steel lid. I don't want to use stickers. I have found those capsules, but I don't know whitch ones will work on the Essenza D30... Have you found any that work?

In your opinion, is it true that some compatible capsules are harder and damage Nespresso machines after some time? I have been using compatible capsules for some time and now the original capsules seem to make coffee too liquid
@joseluislopes39564 жыл бұрын
In my experience, yes. I've seen machines working multiple years with no problem, and others having the capsule mechanism fail in months, and it is more common with people I know to use compatible capsules. It all depends on the brands of course

Hi there. Being honest I’m not really sure but it is something I worry about. The Starbucks (made by Nespresso) L’or and Illy pods all seem ok and some of other ones I’ve tried seem thinner so would hope they will be ok, but I do worry about the plastic ones and even some compostable ones (not all compostable pods are the same) which I got recently as they seem really solid, hard enough to put me off using them I think. Sorry I can’t give a definite answer.

Which machine is the best in your opinion? I'm thinking of buying the Nespresso vertuo plus that you have is it a good all rounder?
@A2BProductions3 жыл бұрын
That's the machine I prefer out of the Vertuo range but I do prefer the taste and variety that comes with the OriginalLine machines (especially with the compatible pods available for those). Really tough question to answer as there are so many factors involved but we have some videos on the channel which might help you to decide. Maybe check out our Nespresso Machine Reviews playlist if you have some time free one day.

Being honest I’m not sure but I’ll give a few more a try. I did grind the Colombia one down a bit finer with a pestal and mortar and that helped, but not sure if you should really do that or not taste wise. The Milano espresso one was a bit strong for my taste but didn’t try it with milk. Just a case of trial and error with these I think and finding coffee blends or grinds that work well. You can also buy grinders if you want to grind the beans from scratch.
