Being a law expert or not doesn't make your individual rights any more or less valid, he doesn't need a law degree to deserve an equal and fair hearing from a judge, she wouldn't listen and he handled everything more professionally than the judge. The judge does control the court room, but the court is for the people, the judge is supposed to be for the people something that they swear an oath for when becoming a lawyer. The contempt on court charge was an ego charge because somebody wouldn't let her bully the proceedings of court without getting any reasonable say in it.

The last one made me cry. My mom and dad are addict's and they had to work hard to get clean and take care of me. My mom was the one who was able to get full custody and I am grateful. She passed away in 2016 from cancer. She told me I am the reason she survived her addiction because I gave her a reason to live and get clean. I taught her patience bravery and she said I also taught her how to love herself. She was my hero. She was broken but brave. I am autistic and she learned how to communicate with me and help me to communicate with others. I was neglected at first but she made up for it and took responsibility. My dad is not well but well taken care of. Him and my stepmom are doing well. ❤️ We need to give people a chance and get them help instead of locking them up. It's a waste of money and precious time. That last judge, though. He sarcastically says "Bye bye!" as she leaves, and she simply says "Adios" without any rancor, and he calls her back and doubles her bond. The trouble is judges have almost limitless power to hurt anyone who comes in front of them like this--holding them in contempt, increasing or denying bond, sarcastic and rude behavior to elicit a response from the defendant to justify more charges, etc. They are little tyrants in the courtroom and they know they can do almost anything. The Constitution means nothing when a judge can literally order anything and it is given force of law. The judicial branch needs checks on its authority just like the legislative and executive branches have.

It’s unacceptable for a defendant to have an attitude but it’s perfectly okay for a judge to be flippant and immature. Obviously people are going to be upset when they’re freedom is taken away, and a Judge is *responsible* for remaining impartial and objective, not responding on hurt feelings when a defendant doesn’t like them. They’re *responsible* for deescalating the situation and having empathy for an individual. When they act like a controlling, angry parent, only bad things will follow.

Judges have to enforce the law, not their feelings. Leave the ego at your house once your serving the public. Do not serve your ego. Judges are ELECTED to be level headed perpetually. We are a country of laws. Which is why the judge in the end got reprimanded
@brianwest27753 жыл бұрын
Yes, that first one was outrageous. Simply an ego battle. It's ridiculous that a judge can send you to jail for 88+ days for that. That was simply someone who doesn't understand why she can't go home and saying WTF?! She wasn't disobeying any significant order of the court. Plus, it costs about $100/day to keep someone in jail, so the judge wants to spend $30,000 of our tax money to teach her a lesson about manners in court. Pathetic.

imagine having the power to imprison a person just because your feelings got hurt. judges are so petty.

This just demonstrates that the so-called American Justice System is based on the whims and sensitivities of so-called Judges on a power trip. The sentences they dish out are directly proportional to the injuries suffered by their over-inflated egos.

Hastings is an animal. But these judges are tiny people with to much ego and power. The one guy’s expired license case was dropped. He was asking her questions she couldn’t answer.

Hastings probably showed an attitude when the judge was trying to lecture him or give him a talk on something about a "thumbnail sketch of the American system of government," and that easily angered the judge.
