Especially considering it's part of basic English, not exactly advanced English. I find it difficult to take people's arguments seriously when they make such basic mistakes. It invokes the idea this person does not read or write a lot and, and as you said, that this person is not very educated. We have a similar error in my mother tongue. Not exactly about confusing verbs with pronouns but still a very common error. It is customary to grade a student's test 0/10 should they make this error just once.
