AE86 Project | Shaved Engine Bay Pt.2 | Bike Carbed 4AGE Automotive Build Vlog | Toyota Corolla AE86

In todays video we are starting the process of shaving the engine bay on the bike carbed 4AGE ae86 project. Man is it a lot of work! Shaved engine bay s take time and boy am I figuring that out now.
In the last couple of videos we attempted to start the recently completed ae86 engine swap. The 4age engine swap was converted to run off of a series of bike carbs from a Yamaha yzf600r motorcycle . This jdm bike carbed 4age 16v engine will power the ae86 trueno coupe. The jdm 4age 16v engine is out of an AE92 and was converted to also run in the ae86 rwd orientation. This automotive build vlog documents the complete ae86 build project and the obstacles that may get in the way with a diy jdm project car.
In this video I also explain how exactly I am going to tackle this part of the project. I need your help and opinions on what to do with the seams in the shaved engine bay . Do we fully weld and shave or use a thin bead of seam sealer? In any case we have to complete the engine bay before we paint the ae86 build project . Great videos! Try not to throw away that grinder tho. If you can, take it apart and see if it was the cable that got disconnected inside or if the brushes on the motor wore out, it could save you some big bucks there. And also great welding job, I've been working on my 86 and I've gotten a lot of inspiration to keep working on it since I watched your vids. in the lincon welder you use .30 or .35 cord?i bean doing my buy it seam like .30 is to hard for the thing metal.

I think unless you plan on taking apart anything, welding and shaving the seams is a good idea. It should make everything look like one piece.

However, I also want to build this car for me and have it look the way I want, regardless of what is done to it. Is there a fuse inside the grinder? The breaker for the outlet was fine since the other tools plugged into the extension cord worked fine. Thanks for the suggestion though, I will take a look. Thanks for watching!

You can also check the brushes inside the grinder they usually go out and need replacement 🤙🏼
