Wrong number. The interviewer has two laughs, haHAha-ha and yaHAHAHAHAha-ha. Counting the number of A's in a laugh, the 7A laugh sounds like a sample being inserted under the title "laugh prompt", while the 4A laugh might actually be spontaneous. 4 parts spontaneity in 11 parts total, seems like an early series Automated Interviewer... ;)

In another part of this interview, she says she read it.
I met Robert Jordan, author of the Wheel of Time series, at a book signing for the second novel in Toronto in the early 1990s. I asked him how many books it would be and he said, "Oh, right now about 4 or 5...but maybe more." Well, he was right on that account. I think it ended up being 14 novels plus some extra works in the same world. Sadly, he passed away in 2007 before he could finish, but other writers took up the task and did him proud. Let's hope George doesn't go the same way before he can finish, because I heard he has no plans for anyone to finish the series if he passes away. Then we will never know if Jon really kills Dany, Arya rejects Gendry, and Bran becomes king.

That one of the most elaborate, complex, nuanced, shocking, thrilling, emotional, epic fantasy sagas that will go down in history as one of the biggest, most influential works of fiction, alongside the likes of Star Wars and LOTR, all began with a simple scene of a father and his sons happening upon a litter of wolf pups is mind-blowing and kind of beautiful. Honestly makes that scene so much more fascinating now.

I feel like, in keeping with the theme of the faith of the seven he should’ve written seven books in the main series and three books about the Targaryen dynasty because “the dragon must have three heads”. George doesn’t like to limit himself with deadlines and numbers but it’s honestly good to do that sometimes especially with a thematic purpose and giving yourself plenty to work with.

@GenomeSoldierDK6 жыл бұрын
Warning this contains spoilers from book 1: Well the discovery of the pups was a very symbolic moment of foreshadowing in many ways. The parent direwolf was killed by a stag symbolising the downfall of the Stark family at the hands of the Baratheon's (Ned accepting the job as Hand of the King) - and literally on the orders of Joffrey Baratheon. It's beautiful writing. So many meanings in just one moment.

Well, one could technically say the 5 books that are out are actually 7, since A Storm of Swords and a A Dance with Dragons are 2 parts. So, definitely more than 7 books. Anyway, George already shared how the series will end with a writer he trusts is able to finish it properly in the event that he dies before finishing it himself.
