I have never understood why people are impressed when a native English speaker speaks English quite well. If I took a Spanish test, I would definitely score very high too.

Let's be honest, I was still struggling to even speak my mother tongue when I was 7/8 years old...I am impressed by her English skills, consider she was just a child. Ofc, maybe she was trained very well in language skills and she only have one language to learn, but can't deny that she must be better than most children on her age.

@@alvinooi3668 The girl is a native speaker; she can effortlessly achieve a score of 6.5 without any additional effort because of her fluency. On the other hand, it is relatively easy to train a child to respond to specific questions within a few hours, as evidenced by the numerous child actors who demonstrate this skill. Memorization in your mother tongue is easy.

I've heard of native English speaker's taking the IELTS test with zero prep and below 8s and even 7s. IELTS isn't a perfect test.

Frankly say, It’s very normal for a 7 years old native speaker. I have a 7 and a 10, they’re very chatty at home all day long at the weekend, I do learn a lot from theming .

How she could answer just so immediate after the questions were given? She didn’t have to even think what she was going to speak..? For me this looks she had prepared all the answers beforehand..if not, her communication level is so high.

Nothing surprising tbh. She is a native English speaker so naturally she is able to answer the questions in such a way. Imo, the only thing that was impressive about her big vocabulary and how she was able to make full eye contact while answering the questions, not getting nervous at all. Except for this, there's nothing else too impressive.

@@User-dodosoos Brother Im sure you could do it, you're just simply underestimating yourself. Maybe you wouldn't be as confident and the kid in the video because children usually have more confidence in such types of things. Dont get me wrong, im not disagreeing with the fact that this kid is really good at communicating. But since she being interviewed in her mother-language, its just not the same thing anymore.

The plural of salmon is also salmon. Here she is using the plural form, hence the correct form of the verb in this case would be help.

I don’t get it why people come at the girl and “she’s a native of course she’ll get 9”. Ielts tests if you could use English well, not just ‘know it well’. Although we have all our grammar points correct like a native but if we couldn’t construct our answers and choose the choice word like the girl, we wouldn’t get ban 9 either. In the other hand, i might not get full scores in my own language test even though I use it every day.

I use to talk to myself in English whenever I'm alone. But i don't know why whenever i try to speak in front of any person, i just couldn't bring myself to speak in English. I think I lack confidence maybe. I just watch a yt video of IELTS practice exam whenever I get a chance to do so.

I don't want to offend you, but man, you're exaggerating your daughter's achievements. If she lives in Canada with you, of course she's able to speak English correctly because she lives in the English- speaking country. Her first language is English I suppose. No doubt, she must be a native speaker. But I don't think that she knows all things about life and so on that adults do. Because she 's only a child. Undoubtedly, you helped her to prepare for this exam.
