You can definitely make a case for literacy, albeit not a direct gauge, but being a very good tell of one's Intelligence regardless. It is the ability to portray and express your thoughts into a communicable medium after all. English as said medium is one of the most dynamic and flexible languages in both its mechanics and chemistry there is. Which directly attributes itself to the prior fact and also how widely "diverse" the people are that it's spoken by in the world. The same goes with Sense of Humour, Rationality and Awareness.

I am studying at the best uni in ma own country, and i scored 672 out of 700 on the passing exam, which all students complaint for the hard face of it, and i am really good at science and math, tho i don't like 'em, but i have been struggling with English, it is a mainstay of our uni, therefore, i have to deal with it. if you can tell joke, and the things you mentioned it doesn't mean your smart, you can be but not for that reason

He is Iranian, and his language is Farsi. From the examiner accent I am pretty much sure she is Iranian as well. Nevertheless, your point is very valid. It’s not hard to improve from 3.5 to 5.5. In two or three months it is very doable. But higher score needs more practice.

Activities such as thinking and speaking to oneself in the language can tremendously benefit them and make them more confident and comfortable with the language. To be honest, few minutes into this video and I was already compelled to move over to a different example from this series. However, I actually felt a bit warm reading the comments here and ended up watching a major chunk of this video - and this guy really had the guts to give it a go!
