Man I have seen so many of your videos, you guys rock it every time - I can't wait for your channel to get more popular. Between you, Rodney, and the Dice Tower we are truly spoiled. Also, the chemistry between you two make it a joy to hear your thoughts on all these games, can't appreciate you guys enough. Thank you for your awesome production and dedication to the hobby - love this particular game btw.

Interesting take on the deck builder genre. The stacking of the deck certainly makes it something else. However, since it is cooperative I have to play it before I can say if it is worth it for me.

I've played 19 games now using the PNP that they provided to KS backers. It is truly a fantastic game. Great review. Love seeing all the cards i hadn't seen before. Can't wait until this gets delivered. Will be playing this for a long time.

I was enjoying it so much I went back through the kickstarter and made proxies for the cards they didn't give us because I wanted to try MORE!

Funny that you mention that the creator must have been influenced by playing video games- he was a professional Star Craft player for a number of years, was known as QXC.

this one looks pretty good. A little bummed that they didn't include the player mat. At the beginning, I kept feeling like this was like Legendary but you went into a bunch of details to illustrate how it wasn't.
@abelkim9861

Yeah. At the moment though, there is not enough content to overthrow Legendary as one of the top Coop deckbuilders.
@abelkim9861
@abelkim9861 8 жыл бұрын
I can definitely see that. The set up and break down times are longer compared to other deck builders, and there are some random elements and schemes that don't sit well with me. However, I like Legendary because it reminds me a lot of Yugioh/MtG where you build a themed deck. (And I also have most of the expansions so I'm probably biased and trying hard to justify it). Though I backed Aeon's End primarily because it was very different from other deckbuilders I have seen. And it has the added bonus of having a Dominion style market system, as opposed to the Legendary style I play with usually. I hope that I can get Aeon's End out with my group just as much as Legendary.

My wife and I got to playtest AE and have been really looking forward to the final product! Great review! And, you can get through the nemesis deck, just have to plan for it from the start and have a good character combination

I got to play this at Origins and really enjoyed it. I reminded me a lot of Shadowrun Crossfire (my favorite deck builder and co-op) but with an extra layer of chrome on top (breaches, boss, timing interactions, etc). While I liked Aeon's End, that chrome felt a tad too fiddley for it to unseat Crossfire from my collection. Would I turn down a game of it? Certainly not, but I only have room for one cooperative deck builder in my collection.

Thanks for the review. I backed this one and hope the 60 minute time holds true for me. Xenoshyft was supposed to be a 60 minute co-op deckbuilder and ended up taking way too long for the amount of fun I got out of it.

2:44 Two expansions? I know about "The Depths" what about the other one? Do you talk about the Stretch goals from KS?

best boardgame i brought in years ! I love deckbuilding games : this one is just the best one ! Replayability is absolutely great even with that just one basic box ! I also got war eternal and two little expansions, that just make the replayability kind of infinite ! Can't wait for Aeon's End Legacy ! This game is just great ! Take it people ! Just take it ! ;)

The art looks amazing! Love their color and design choices on the cards. The boss progression sounds interesting. The deck stacking mechanism is pretty cool. Great video as always gents. Love the close ups and emphasis on the cards.

Thanks for the review :) I like how the DB genre is evolving to be incorportated into other game types (eg: coop in this, push your luck & board in clank!). Another co-op I know of that uses the 'variable turn order' mechanic is Tiny Epic Defenders, & I agree that it provides a needed sense of 'randomness' that more often than not disrupts the 'perfect rhythm' in most DB. Not sure if I'm a fan of the 'deck arranging' mechanic though, as IMO that alone makes this game unwieldy for more casual players, which is somewhat ironic to me as I usually find DB and coops as good mediums for casual gamers to jump in, because DB are usually simple to understand mechanically, while coop allows 'veterans' to aid the less experienced.

I believe the other one contains the Kickstarter promo cards. Essentially, it allows people who didn't back the KS to get those cards.
@Ralsar
@Ralsar 8 жыл бұрын
Correct. It is called The Nameless and contains all the stretch goals from the KS since they unlocked enough to fill an expansion.

No, you did not. There wasn't even a Pledge Manager to handle add-ons.

Not just yet though. Only when close to shipping. Which is around end of next month if there's no delay.

CHEONG: We already sent surveys weeks ago. You had the opportunity to adjust your pledge then, same as with a pledge manager. I know some projects choose to use them, but we never have as they are expensive and unnecessary in our experience. If you would like to adjust your pledge you can do so in the survey or by contacting us directly.
