Kangaroo Ground is a town in Victoria, Australia, approximately 39 km (24.2mi) north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Nillumbik local government area.
There are two sources for the origin of the name. The name arises from the extraordinary richness of the locality with kangaroo grass before it was settled. It is a descriptive term, apparently coined by William Ryrie but first formally recorded in February 1838 by Robert Hoddle in his diary: "Crossed a creek nearly dry and entered some forest land distant from Melbourne called Kangaroo Grounds....” It abounds in kangaroos, hence its name.

Unfortunately I've had a copyright claim against the music I had chosen; This is odd when I have subscribed and paid for copyright free music in their library of the music site I use ... So as not to get caught in the middle of a dispute between the music use, I have chosen to delete it ... sorry about any inconvenience, thus the silence in certain parts !

This brings back memories I've been through kangaroo Ground many times didn't realise there was a general store and a school the only thing I could remember I think the original hotel was down a steep Hill at the bottom of a sharp sweeping right hand bend heading towards Eltham directions I used to live at a small place called Smiths Gully and attended Panton Hills primary school then Hurstbridge high school later on
