The scene of Cloud and Aerith talking about Jessie is very interesting. At first I thought that Aerith was only talking about the relationship between Cloud and Jessie, but now seeing it again and noticing more things like the posture that Aerith makes with her hands behind the back, which is not the first time she has done it (in the sunset scene in Costa del Sol she did the same) maybe she is referring to something else, it can mean several things such as confidence, vulnerability or hiding emotions. Also the dynamic between Cloud and Jessie is a bit like Cloud and Aerith, maybe Jessie teased Cloud more 😂 In any case, I think Aerith is talking about something deeper and Cloud obviously still has no idea😂

Seeing jessie again like that was so emotional! If interested, the meaning of some lines are gone from the EN version. The translators wrote how Cloud thought Jessie was 'desperate' in remake. Because of this re-writing, the japanese lines here wouldn't make sense. Cloud actually never said Jessie was 'desperate' in Remake, he only thought she was trying to be his friend and just teasing him. You can deduce how Cloud might feel about Aerith's teasing here too, perhaps his inferiority complex or the way he use to be is the reason why he never assumes himself as popular with girls and if he's teased, he would only think it to be just that. Cloud: 無愛想な俺と友達になろうとしてくれた "Even though I'm unsociable, she would try to befriend me" Aerith: 友達・・・・・・恋人じゃなく? クラウドそういうの気づかないでしょ "A friend... not a girlfriend? Cloud, you can be pretty dense when it comes to things like that" Cloud: 色々言われたけど 俺をからかってたんだ. それくらいわかるさ "She said a lot of things, but she was only teasing me. I understand at least that much" Aerith: そんなに単純かなあ "I wonder if it's really that simple?" Cloud: どういうことだ "What do you mean?" Aerith: 青年よ もっと学びたまえ "You young man have a lot to learn." It's more apparent here in the japanese line that Aerith is also hinting to Cloud who is oblivious to these things, that there might be more meaning when a girl teases him. I also really like how Cloud was being so honest about himself here too. Because Aerith's cetra abilities and how this place is where Jessie use to perform, I thought it was a nice touch how Aerith was channeling Jessie with the last line. The scene had an ethereal feeling about it. I think Aerith is honoring Jessie a bit too by letting Cloud know Jessie had feelings for him. Some parallel or foreshadowing going on ... so just great writing here.

"I feel like Aerith's theme just puts me in like a whole mood." I know what you mean. I knew about FF7 from junior high / high school. But, I never played it because I got messed up emotionally and was rather sensitive to the subject of death. Watching you play Remake introduced me to Aerith's theme and how beautiful it is. That, in turn, got me into Nobuo Uematsu. Actually, it's kind of interesting. I'm more of a Tifa fan. But, I find Aerith's theme more touching. The only other character theme I really life would be Yuffie's theme.

I found that Aerith was very thoughtful when getting along with Cloud. She could quickly detect Cloud's current thoughts and knew the best way to help Cloud. On the other hand, Cloud also cares about Aerith very much and always pays attention to Aerith. Not only can he help Aerith in time, but it also reflects Cloud's responsible and soft-hearted side. All in all, this couple is very compatible with each other. I like this couple in the game.
