Aero Ae-45 - MAS 2013

Let Aero Ae-45S Super - Memorial Air Show 2013, Roudnice nad Labem. This twin piston-engine civil utility aircraft was produced in Aero Company, Czechoslovakia from 1948 till 1961 during which period the total number of produced aircrafts reached 590. Its design bears a superficial resemblance, viewed nose-on, to the German Siebel type Si-204 which, among other German aircraft like the Bf 109, were produced in Czechoslovakia while under German occupation during the WWII.

I just saw one of these at EAA on 7/28/16. Completely smitten. Owner was kind enough to share a brief history on the aircraft, how he obtained it, where he was from, etc. Love EAA, and some of the amazing aircraft you see there. I was told it's the only one in the U.S. Guess I don't need to check Trade-A-Plane anytime soon. Such a cool plane

Lovely aircraft isn't it - so advanced for its time it stands up against much more modern types. I wonder if there isn't a gap in the market for a modern version of a small but capable twin touring plane like this.

Just saw one of these at EAA today. Saw the nose sitting at the end of a row and was expecting something British. (The cowlings are even set up like they'd take a Gipsy engine, but the nose kind of looks like a Sea Bee.) Very neat and tidy plane!

I believe the engines were originally a Czech licence built version of the De Haviland Gypsy series.

Komické na tomto je, že o tohle československé letadlo byl v době jeho uvedení na trh zájem po celém světě a díky ruskému bolševikovi, kterému se nelíbilo, že si nějaká malá vazalská zemička vyrábí vlastní letadla, nám činnost firmy Aero podstatně omezoval.
