That bike setup is insane, but the biggest flex by far is no grips on the base bar because he ain't gonna need it. lol

Another great example of how the pros circumvent being stuck with a sponsor's bike. I guess the armpad stack and reach are waaay out of original range. Reminds me of Kyle Smith's bike you guys inspected in St George with some custom, angled extensions too. And of course the saddle that looks like breaking off any minute :D Super interesting, keep it coming! And maybe next time bring a measurement tape to tell us some numbers :)

I think Ditlev is one of the most aero (for his size), and he has interesting solutions. Noticed his bottle behind the saddle on race day. You should have included a photo of it.

Probably a little biased as I used to have a plasma ( custom build). Not as uber stealth as this bad boy! Stunning bike & spec 👍👍👍

Fact Check Police: Those aren't "unbranded" Gorilla cages, they are simply the matte black version. And those aren't "Wahoo" speedplay pedals - they are the older pre-Wahoo version. Regardless, thx for the close look at the bike!

Those aero bars are really close together. For me that would be super uncomfortable. It just goes to show, there's no right or wrong as long as its fast!!! 😂

Half-disc wheel - the innovation 2022! It will make you faster @ 2...4 seconds per km.

4 seconds per km over 180km is 12min. If Joe Skipper finished 12 min faster in Kona 2022, he would have moved from 5th place to 2nd place. He would have earned an extra USD45k.

I’m not a biker, just a runner. So forgive me for not knowing but, do bikers buff and polish their bikes? Seems prudent. With all that concern about aerodynamics, why not present the smoothest surface possible? I mean, you guys wear those silly suits and helmets, why not go the extra mile? Do you buff and polish your helmets for that after? I would. Like a madman. Carpenter by trade so, I'd put a shine on it that would blind the sun.

They clean their bikes, most importantly the drive train. But the biggest source of drag is the rider's own body, so position is paramount, followed by a suitable height, and additional marginal gains from a skin suit, socks, etc.

Just the outer rim. The rest of it is pretty much non-structural carbon fairing. Spokes go all the way to the rim. Turns out that gives the best ride quality, repairability, just better all around.

I’ve noticed that as well - about a lot of pro bikes actually. Always guessed that it was about weight savings.
