Also don't forget the riders weight. A light weight bike and an overweight rider defeats the purpose of the bike. An endurance bike is better for the overweight rider he can ride longer and so burn more calories :)
@peachees45724 жыл бұрын
Lots of old overweights buy highest end bikes cuz they got the $$$. The young fit have to budget food/rent vs bike/sports. Such is compromise of life. Work hard to make more $$$ but destroy your body. Stay healthy and don't kill yourself at work but make less $$$.

Except shinny competition bikes make no sense if you don't have the flexibility and strength they're made for. An old dentist with 2w/kg and big gut will have a shitty fit even with spacers compared to an high end endurance bike.
@cookingconfessions4 жыл бұрын
I think most people would be better off getting two bikes. A good XC-hard tail 29" mountain bike and a good racing-bike. In combo you are covered all year round and on all roads and most styles of riding. The mountain bike can go mountain/forest riding AND with slick tires and locked suspension it can go pretty fast in a comfortable riding position and be your bike of choice during the winter months while your race bike can offer pure speed and road excitement. Actually for most people I would personally recommend a good XC mountain bike if you can only afford one bike.

That’s what I did. Started with a 27.5 xc mountain bike and now am looking for a light all around road bike for summer/roads and ironman training
@FroopieLoopies8 жыл бұрын
I ride my endurance bike 90% of the time. My aero bike isn't comfortable and my lightweight bike is "too light" for me. The aero and lightweight bike are both faster; however, I find myself fatiguing quicker on them. I can finish stronger on my endurance bike, which seemingly makes up for the weight differential.
@KnutHellan7 жыл бұрын
FroopieLoopies the comment I have been looking for. I had concluded endurance was the way to go for one road bike and ordered one, but still wasn't sure I made the right choice

Most importantly when you get to realize that what makes the price go sky high is the weight reduction parts. I have a crazy lightweight bike but I would exchange it for an endurance one if I could do it without starting from scratch and loosing money from the trade. Getting tired more quickly won't give you an extra speed advantage for long, and being sore quicker ain't gonna help on those 80-120Km rides.

what about race geometry bikes?? iam about to pull the trigger between lightweight-aero but iam searching for it first.

Good vid. So would endurance include cyclocross? Or is that a whole nother category for off-road?
@benjaminhorn9708 жыл бұрын
You could use it for cyclocross. But a true cyclocross bike will have less fork rake and be a little higher stack. It makes it more nimble. The endurance road bike will feel a little to stable and hard to handle with the longer wheel base.
@Mububban238 жыл бұрын
I've been told that CX bikes are more aggressive and less comfortable than endurance bikes, as they are made with 1-2 hour races in mind, not all day rides where you want more comfort
@TheJavonplayer8 жыл бұрын
+Benjamin Horn are there any aggressive endurance bikes?
@TheJavonplayer8 жыл бұрын
oh yeah to answer your question cyclocross cross is a complete different category and mainly for both on and off road. And like he said they tend to to be more aggressive and agile.
@Mububban238 жыл бұрын
javon player "Agressive" is the opposite from "endurance" in terms of bike frames. Aggessive means shorter wheelbase for sharper handling, and your handlebars will be lower forcing you into a more aero but less comfortable position. Endurance has a longer wheelbase for more stability, and a slightly more upright riding position for minimal aero but more comfort so you can do a 200km ride without killing your back.

@mrt-bear39346 жыл бұрын
Aero is more for racing, because it's the only way of getting faster without dropping bike weight. Light bikes feel amazing and are really fast up hills. Endurance bikes will take you anywhere and they will give you stronger legs. It's 90% about the rider. You can change your position on the bike to be more aero, or lose some weight to be lighter, and work out to cycle faster. It is you who does all the work, and the bike just helps. No matter how crappy the bike, it is something. Save a couple dollars a day and when you're older you too can buy the fancy expensive bike of your dreams!
