The biggest irony here: The World Health Organization's International Research Agency on Cancer (IARC) has classified aspartame, an artificial sweetener found in Diet Coke, as a "possible" carcinogen. The IARC's classification is based on three studies that found drinking artificially sweetened drinks may increase the risk of a common type of liver cancer. 🙂
@SoulPotato0075 ай бұрын
The evidence of an association between aspartame consumption and cancer in humans is not convincing as per the latest study. So you can still enjoy Diet Coke in moderation. It’s still better than getting addicted to vaping and permanently damaging your lungs I guess.

From personal experience I feel like my breathing is easier and my lungs has cleared up eg. Just climbing a flight of stairs was different when I stopped smoking. I didn't know about the harmful chemicals that are part of the flavoring, now it's going to be another battle to stop this addiction. It is worrying about the youth who are getting addicted to nicotine this early in their age. Banning something never works. More education and awareness is the big step. Thanks for this video.

Yep, I used to vape, anyways I got rid of it (its too difficult to get rid of vaping). Few things that I would like to add are :- 1. The major contents are propylene glycol, glycerin (u missed this), nicotine salts, and flavoring. 2. The name is derived from the word vaporization, (the principle on which these devices work). So technically its the vapors not smoke 3. And yes the vapors get condensed in our respiratory system, which leads to mucus formation (major reason for cough). 4. There's no authentic source for these devices specially in India, so no one can tell what's original and what's duplicate. 5. These devices explode bcz of the heating coils, that's a major red flag (jst imagine u r vaping and then suddenly the device explodes at the tip of ur mouth) 6. There's no fear of getting caught by family members, as the smoke has a sweet & citrus smell, where as cigarettes give a bad odour after smoking, this is the major reason for getting popular among the teenagers. 7. 14:47 There's no record how much one has vaped, (few of friends have finished it in a single day that's approx. 2500-3000 puffs) 8. 13:50 The high quantity of nicotine gives a sudden nicotine kick

Your video's production quality is impressive, presenting information in an engaging and believable manner. However, it would have been beneficial to consider vaping from diverse perspectives, beyond just those seeking recreational use. The government's blanket ban on vaping compounds this oversight unjustly. Here are my insights: 1. Vaping was intended for smokers seeking to quit, not for children or youth. 2. Nicotine in cigarettes isn't the primary lung-damaging agent; it's the tar from combustion. 3. Vaping offers nicotine delivery without combustion, crucial for smoking cessation. 4. By resembling smoking without tar, vaping aids quitting. 5. Some profit-driven companies promoted vaping irresponsibly with enticing imagery. 6. Government intervention, like strict sales regulations similar to alcohol, could prevent this. 7. The real victims are ex-smokers who quit through vaping now forced into unregulated vapes or revert to smoking. I truly hope that you will revisit this topic with a broader perspective and understanding on the topic.

very informative video but what you just discussed was the disposable pods. You are true in the regard that we actually don't know whether the flavor, coil, cotton, etc. inside these things is even safe. But there are also rebuildable tank out there in which you have full control on the type of battery you are using, the cotton you are putting inside, what type of wire are you building your coil with and what flavor you are putting inside. These are called RTA's & RDA's. There are also reusable pods out there where you can change the coil and flavor. These all can be very effective as an alternative to smoking cigarette assuming you know what you are putting inside your body.... But let's face it disposables are popular because as you said they are coming in big bright packaging, they are cheap and mostly they are using these tasty fruity flavors. no wonder kids are getting hooked into these.

Many lies and mistruths: first did anyone notice her top advise to quit vaping (nicotine) is also nicotine (gums, patches etc ), which means nic by itself isn't that harmful. Second, no one has EVER died from vaping. The deaths in US were from illegal THC, and why were these deaths only in US, and why only for a short period of time (CDC has even stopped monitoring this illness) if nicotine vaping is deadly and there are now over 100 million vapers globally. Third, the compounds in vapes are in trace amounts and orders of magnitude less than in cigarettes. Vaping dua not cause cancer. The only study claiming vapes cause cancer was retracted for making a false claim. There are 1.1 billion smokers in the world today, dying at 8 million per year. Switching them to vapes (95% less harmful: Public Health England) can save millions of lives. There is no credible scientific body today that says vapes aren't less harmful than smoking (includes US FDA, CDC, WHO, NHS etc.). No one ever claimed vapes are safe. Putting anything other than fresh air into your lungs will cause harm. Those who don't smoke shouldn't try them. But for 1.1 billion smokers, over half of whom will die from smoking if they continue, vapes can be a lifesaver. It's a great mission to prevent youth vaping, but let's do it with facts, by telling them any dependence has costs, not through lies. Do look up youth-focused material created by Cancer UK or ASH.
@aevytv8 ай бұрын
- We’ve clearly said in the video that nicotine in itself isn’t extremely harmful but nicotine abuse is. - we’ve also called out that EVALI was caused by THC vapes. - The Indian market is flooded with cheap and unbranded China-made e-cigarettes which could potentially have even more toxins than a usual vape. - We clearly mention there’s ongoing research and speculation around vapes and cancer. Regardless please note that the aerosol found in vapes has been found to have formaldehyde, which in large amounts is carcinogenic. - Yes, vapes can be an effective tool for smoking cessation, but then they should only be dispensed on a prescription basis, rather than being sold as consumer goods, as is currently the practice.
@vapeindia8 ай бұрын
Thank you for engaging. Some clarifications: Overdoing anything is a problem, but there's a difference between dependence and addiction. Caffeine is also habit-forming, but socially accepted as dependence, while alcohol & drugs is considered addiction because it seriously harms the user. Nicotine is closer to caffeine on harm spectrum if the delivery mechanism doesn't involve combustion (which produces tar that contains 80 carcinogens). People will die if they smoked tea. Vaping eliminates combustion which makes them significantly less harmful. Also note nicotine gums are approved for long-term use by WHO bodies. Formaldehyde is present in hugely lower quantities in vape than in ciggies, and produced during overheating and dry hits, both of which vapers avoid intuitively (like smokers avoid smoking ciggerate butts). Cinnameldehyde which you mention is no longer used in regulated vapes. Also crucial to note is that these substances are not an essential product feature (unlike combustion is to cigarettes) and can be easily weeded out if new science emerges. Why speculate in a vlog about science? People have now been vaping for almost 20 years and no one got cancer. But over 150 million people have died from smoking in this time. Your claim that vapes contain enormous amount of nic is also totally misinformed. Ciggies contain additives like amonia to increase rapid absorption, whereas in pure form nic is not that addictive. So just comparing amount of nicotine (which btw is nic by volume and not by puff) is incorrect. Infact most vapers taper down their nic intake after fully switching out of smoking as the dependence eases. Coming to the 'we don't know what's in them' argument, this is very well addressed in NHS UK online 'myths about vaping', but here's an additional point in Indian context. India's vape ban is to blame for this, as unlike UK and the entire western world where vaping is allowed, in our country the ban has pushed everything into the black market, with no safety checks, consumer protection, and even protection of youth as the black market doesn't care for age verification or whom these products are sold to. Instead of shirking its responsibility by imposing an ineffective ban, it should sensitivity regulate them such that both youth and smoking adults are benefited (see Philippines vape law). Finally about the prescription model: When toxic ciggies are sold freely at every nook and cranny in India, why do you want a lifesaving safer alternative to be sold through prescription? UK is giving free vapes to 1 million smokers to help them switch and you want to create more barriers? Why? Also note even nic gums are available without prescription on Amazon, but for vapes you want smokers to go to a doctor, get prescription and spend more money (medicalisation makes products expensive). Why? This is like saying Coke you can buy anywhere but for Diet Coke please get a prescription and pay lots more. We are all for prevention of uptake by non-smoking teens, but scaremongering with half-truths and lies does more harm than good.

Firstly, hats off! A highly necessary video and great work in collecting all the data. Its not easy! Second, i wish this video gets largest traction and go through the thick skulls who are in need. As anything too much is poison, habits done excessive leads to demise.

This video is actually one of the best videos produced in regards to the topic of vaping. I had watched 2 additional videos in the past from other KZbin channels that have a high production value, but this provided has more valuable info-graphic insight than those videos.

If you need Vapes, Smoke, Wine to make friends then either they are wrong friends or you're just too lazy to put in any work in making friends without such things

Vaping is counter intuitive for smokers also as it's nicotine curve doesn't decrease mean dopamine level rather increases it and unlike other nicotine treatments this doesn't slowly decreases the tolerance level and dopamine peaks, rather it increases the peaks and smokers who tried to Quit smoking by Vaping they either got hooked on to vaping or they relapsed back to smoking but with increased frequency.

Influence is the major force driving these things in teens, things like these tend to be cool but aren't, many people think that vaping is healthier than smoking although both are same if not worse, Thank you for this video even though many youtubers talked about this, there is a lot of misinformation regarding vape

I'm a socially occasional smoker living in Australia ... My smoking habit is curtailed partly due to the exorbitant cigarette prices as well... So i was thinking of trying out vaping just for kicks - but thanks to this eye opener video , have decided against it... Kudos to you guys for bringing about such awareness in our fabricated society ❤

I am sorry to say but there is so much of misinformation in this video. It seems the research was biased and the author already had this perception that Vaping is completely bad for health and was trying to prove that point only. Yes, addiction part is somewhat true but too much of everything is bad. Also, vaping was meant to be an alternative for smokers to quit smoking and switch to something which is way less harmful and should not be used by someone who doesn't smoke. Edit: Just wanted to add/clarify few points here: - Vaping is NOT meant for NON-SMOKERS. - I am not advocating anything in favor of "ELF BARS" or any other disposable vapes. As mentioned in the video, we really don't know the exact composition of what's inside truly. - If you are someone staying in a country where Vaping is legal, try out custom vaping devices and get your e-liquids from reputed sellers only and make sure it only has a composition of FDA approved Vegetable Glycerin, Propenyl Glycol, Nicotine in regulated quantity, Flavoring free from Diacetyl and is completely THC free.

Appreciate Aevt TV's social responsibility!✌ and last few mins of the video was so powerful that it would have made atleast few people to re-think their decision to vape.

Please make a video on the new openAI's text to video model, Sora, and also address your previous claims that AI wouldn't be able to reach this milestone. So, should we get into Aevy's video editing cohort now?
