AEW and WWE have both signed massive TV deals recently. The war is over, both companies won and really have nothing left to fight over. Not sure they ever did really. It feels to me the Netflix deal was the true catalyst (and now the MAX deal) since Nielsen doesn't record streaming viewership. NXT wasn't competing either imo. Unless you want to argue Orton being on the card, but that was more because it was in his hometown. A big reason the main roster stars were on the show was because Raw was in St. Louis the night before.

And in that reality the war will never end as long as both companies exist. And any inside joke or poke a wrestler makes is considered “Shots Fired!”, and demands an immediate and overwhelming scorched earth response. And if you don’t pick a side and dedicate all of your blood sweat and tears of those you’ve trolled to it you’re not a “real” fan. You can’t have a positive attitude about wrestling! I personally enjoyed the show but from Luke’s POV of it being a title special, in direct competition with WWE, & the go-home for WrestleDream..for those reasons it’s totally fair to say that the show fell short Opening bout was great, LOVE to see Penelope & Garcia back in the mix, & I am so here for Stokley x Private Party. My biggest critics of the show was how short Mercedes match was

There were many other points to criticize the show on, but its not fair to run the lead story on something they didn’t do, that you thought they should. So its also understandable why people see it as clickbait. And the summary to tempest felt yucky because it significantly downplayed the delivery from the review making the equally aggressive response look unjust

That is an issue with all wrestling, and, honestly, all media review shows. They book things in their head, then are upset that something else happened good or bad. A good non-wrestling example would be all the Marvel review shows that all had head canon'ed Mephisto into Wandavision and got mad when it wasn't him. Don't get me wrong, I agree that they show was kinda meh, but the lead story being 'why is AEW not counter programming WWE?' when you complain or take jabs at WWE for counter programming against AEW is weird.

I agree with what Luke is saying. AEW needs to make these episodes important no matter what's happening. The few thinhs i lile about wwe. Is the setting up of matches that impact the ppv. Why not set up another match that setups the title match. The same goes for Collion. You have to make the show must see. The only thing to do that is matches that impact the ppv. @1:00 ueah. They should've just kept Stokly and Chris together and turned them both faces. Why not? Then when Stokly approched Private Party. It would make more sense

One detail not mentioned in the review brian more focused on doing the yes chant over checking on Yuta. I feel that will play into the path Yuta ultimately takes.

The insistence that AEW counter program with NXT after signing one of the biggest TV deals in the history of the sport (on top of the whole show getting thrown off by one of the worst natural disasters in recorded history) is so bad faith as to be disqualifying. Even SRS on twitter was actively qualifying critiques with his due diligence of reporting on how talent couldn't fly in for matches that were supposed to take place on top of TK helping to fund and give aid to disaster relief in the southern US in the days leading up to the show. I have no problem with critique, but the eventual defense of "noone is allowed to have an opinion anymore" is getting a little tired. Of course you're allowed to have an opinion, that's your job. But those of use who think your opinion is bad faith and nitpicking are fully allowed to express that to you as well, as long as the comment section is still here, I guess.

You should probably do a little research before reviewing the show. The past two weeks have had terrible storms hitting parts of the country making travel nearly impossible for most of the talent that's why both shows were had to be thrown together with the available wrestlers that weren't planned for either show.

I've been 1000% against Shane being the guy up until Luke mentioned the possibility of it being Sami. I've never wanted it to be Shane more than rn lol. I like Sami and I liked SwitchBlade Conspiracy but dude has no credibility. It'll be very disappointing if it were to be revealed that he or anyone on his level is behind Mox and Co's attack.

Maybe the AEW showrunners aren't trying to attract people who already prefer WWE, and instead are offering more of what THEY do well. They have a PPV coming up, and they stuck to the script. I think AEW programmed with no mind to what WWE was doing in NXT. WWE overbooked their show with main roster talent, a rap concert (by the so-so Sexxy Redd), and debuting Stephanie Vaquer. Did I watch it? No. I still watched AEW Dynamite because I always watch Dynamite and never watch NXT. I am the person AEW is aiming for, and I am glad.

Great point. I think too many fans are conditioned to think that there is only one 'right' way of doing things and would rather see a pale facsimile of the US tv style popularised by Vince McMahon than something that appeals to fans of other styles of wrestling. AEW is at its best when it does its own thing.

I’m taking my girlfriend to WD and she has never watched wrestling so i thought I would catch her up by watching Dynamite. As a person who never watched aew and has a hard time concentrating on long form media not only did she stay engaged the entire time she LOVED the show and became an instant fan. Even though i agreed that it may not have been the best go home the show it still made me extremely excited for Saturday and the future of AEW.

Tribalism is when fans side with one company and refuse to accept anything their side does is wrong, or that the other side does it right. A company competing with another company is not tribalism. It's just how they talk down about AEW constantly for me. I used to love the passion on the show. The first 10 mins of this Dynamite review was just talking about AEW in a boring negative way. Ratings wars and stuff. I don't care Mentioned too many promos and then discussed they were good promos that built matches and furthered intrigue etc. I just don't want AEW reviews to be about "other stuff". Just make it about what AEW is presenting. Especially if they are as sick of the tribalism as much as they claim. I know i am
