AEW Games: NO GM Mode on Console plus Campaign mode confirmed and more!

IGN Japan had an interview with AEW Champion Kenny Omega. In the interview he had some confirmations regarding the AEW Console game including that there would be no GM Mode on the release. There would be a campaign mode which would be like WWE 2K's MyCareer and that online would be in the game. How will this go down with fans who were likely looking forward to AEW Games having GM Mode on their console game as well as the Elite GM Mobile game?

Well they should put a mode that has replay worth. Not exactly GM mode, but just something that I can get into for long enough. Campaign will end in a few hours, and playing random matches is not really fun you need a purpose for playing a wrestling game.

I think it's fine, I think anyone who goes into this game expecting it to have literally every single feature every WWE game has ever had don't really get how games are made. It's their first video game ever, there's no way they can pack every single possible thing into it and still come out in a reasonable time frame. Also, TBH, I think people hype GM mode up a little too much. Not saying it was bad or anything, but people act like it was the single greatest thing ever added to wrestling games and I just don't think that's the case.

GM Mode as it stands wasn't AMAZING. There was definitely improvements that could be made. Which is why I made the GM Mode Reboot video.

Agreed plus as I see it why make the effort to put in GM Mode if you're not sure it's going to be good. Basically if you're confident that the mode is going to be good put it in, if you're not sure it's going to be good or literally have no way of putting it in because of resources then don't put it in.

I'm fine with there being no GM Mode in the main console game basically if you're not sure the mode will be good don't put it in. And as for the campaign mode I think it'll be something similar to HTCP's Season Mode and I'm thinking that the CAW both Male and Female will be a selectable character.

Hell yea hand drawn move animations. I don't care how long it takes I've been waiting for No Mercy 2 for 20 years. That game is very near and dear to me I play and stream it vanilla on the N64 and it's about time it's updated by a company that actually cares about it's fans and not just the blood money.

Not feeling it. Don’t watch AEW, but I would have definitely bought this game if there was a GM mode. The Elite GM mobile game doesn’t look like my cup of tea. Mobile games in general aren’t my thing. Maybe next game.

Why would you have a GM mode on a AEW game when it only has one show. WWE has 3 shows, so it makes sense to have a GM mode on the game. In GM mode you compete with the other brands to see who will have the best ratings and try and make the best roster. What show will you compete against in a GM mode on a AEW game🤷 My point exactly

I said that on reddit, I'm gonna say it here. It's so easy regarding ratings. Ratings matter. TNT gave Tony the money for AEW on TNT after he invested his money. The TNT business guy wants good ratings with good demo ratings. 'Hey Tony, Dynamite wasn't good with 300.000 people watching it. How can you improve this? (Choose one answer)' and with the second main? show coming, Tony is your boss. 'Hey Player One, the show wasn't really good. I want to see 800.000 people watching this month and a 4 star feud between X and Y.'

One brand, two brands, doesn't matter because ratings matter everytime for shows. :D Even be Tony 2.0 and make your own brand while you get some of the talents at start. I won't buy it at launch and will never pre-order any wrestling game anymore since 2011 but the first game should just concentrate on the gameplay. It's perfect for online leagues (badly I won't invest time in online leagues anymore and won't play with buddies) but offline gameplay...I don't think the game without online leagues will last long, maybe content creators doing some of their videos but for the casual player without buddies who like wrestling, nooope.

Mmh I dont know how to feel about No GM Mode. That mobiel GM Mode doesnt looks really good. I mean its okay for a mobile game, but I also wanted a deeper GM mode for the console :/

No gm mode, idk im not big on moblie gaming so doubt i will even play the gm game. Idk i might rent the aew game but doubt i will buy it. Sorry aew i love you but after all these years with wwe games. Yeah i loved No Mercy back in the day but i never had the urge to go back to that style of a wrestling game. I was never a big fan of mobile games, it's not a good idea to focus on both mobile and console games when you can simply add that mobile game's features to the console game. I hope it doesn't mean they will force you to pay real money for currency. Also, I wanted a more realistic game, this game looks like Street Fighter.

But in all seriousness I understand that AEW is just making a game so there is something else other than WWE to play. Which to be honest Virtual Basement has their game with every wrestler around. With every wrestling game coming out from now till the future we as gamers should be happy there are more choices to play a game that isn't only WWE...
